My 96 daily driver needs a 23 spline short input shaft (auto tranny) 231. If you have one you can part with let me know how much or I have a 23 spline long input shaft (manual tranny) with a hack-n-tap sye I could trade.
I think I might ha e what you need. I have a 23 spline tc out of a 95 xj that I bought just for the sye it has on it.. You come and pull the input shaft and you can have it. PM sent with my contact info.. Text or call me and I'll send you a pic of if so you can see if its what you need. I don't know how to tell the difference between the shot and long input shafts.
I read your post wrong,you need the whole TC.. If you help me pull my sye out of mine you can still have my t case but you will need the stock output shaft, maybe the parts off the case you have can swap out into mine???
Btw- You can use the long input, just need a chop saw and keep it cool while cutting, just brace the case flat and you don't even have to remove the shaft. Basically any 23 spline will work, just may need minor modification.
I wasn't really looking to rebuild my case as I have a neighbor with a lift and I'd like to have another case ready so I use it for the shortest time possible.
I was wondering about just cutting the input shaft off. I'd use my extra t-case but I don't really need a SYE for my stock jeep and I would need a new rear drive shaft. At least I now know I can buy any 23 spline 231.
