Well, after my very lengthy search for how to make a set of bastard packs, I have figured out that i do not have the necessary equipment to do all that is required.

SO....

Does anyone have a bastard pack sitting around the garage? Im looking for roughly 4 inches over stock give or take a half.

I will be going to the ROM so we can meet there or work something out if the price is reasonable...

Thanks guys

What necessary equipment are you thinking you don't have? I put mine together with a grinder to cut down the additional main leave I used. Hand tools to put it all together again. I never even dropped the main leaf down from the mounting points.

Same thing when I built mine... except the first time I droped mine (mistake and did not need to) My new(er) jeep did not drop. Used dakota packs as donors both times.

@menos and xjintx::: What did you guys do about your clamps? The tutorial I read said to drop the leafs, cut the clamps off, stack the leafs together and clamp them with a custom clamp made from hardware store parts.

@eflores::: What size lift can I expect from these? What where the donor springs from? I can probably do 40, depending on condition and what not.

The dakota pack i used had a integral spring clamp. I just reused it. You can also get replacement spring pack clamps like this.

This only 'new' part I used was a new set of hex head cap bolts that I used as centering pins. I just spun them in a drill against a bench grinder till they fit into the centering hole on the spring perch.

When I first built my lift the rear springs were probably the easiest part. Even easier than getting the front springs in :)

I buy mine from Rusty's

You can get the replacement center bolts from there too. Ater tightening just cut to proper length.

Rusty's was fast and inexpensive.

I keep an extra pair of new clips in my offroad tools. I also have the old clips in my garage I could reuse if needed.

You will want and need available two C clamps to hold the packs together and keep from springing out on you.

If you get to doing it and have any questions, post em up. Several of us have done this before. Some, many times.....
