looking to explore the back country i live in pa between Allentown and Philly. i'm am new to this and don't know where to go for a good view and a good drive/trail ride.would really like some help. i would love to goto Maine or Vermont or go south.wanted to get to Colorado and Utah but she isn't ready for that. now i also need to know what to pack that would be different from a slandered camping trip.it will be Kate(wife) Sasha(american bulldog)and myself(pete).i want the frist trip to be easy so i can get kate sucked in then get harder and farther.any help would be great :yelclap:

How much time in camp does the Mrs have? Does she need facilities?

A few hours west you can be in the Pa Grand Canyon, it's a nice large area which allows dispersed camping, dogs and has alot of logging roads you can tour. Camping is free, you just have to call the local ranger station and aquire a permit.

she is a good camper. ever other day she would like to shower. we went there 3 years ago with all of are friends and had a great time. wish i knew about the logging roads! does this have some good sights to see?

I have the single burner... it's nice to have a decent shower. Just never run the heat exchanger without water flowing. Personally, i preheat the water in my source then turn the heat off and shower. Saves water and you dont damage the unit.

I shouldnt have used logging roads.. forest roads is a better fit. But you can find some tighter two tracks if it's not gated off.

Check out the Pine Gorge/Colton Point area.
