Volunteers needed URE Jamboree Oct. 13

I am still planning on coming up but mihgt not have the big jeep done... so. I might bring the Baby Jeep. :wave1:

I'm on the fence about attending but if I make it I'll swing by and introduce myself. Been a member/lurker gathering info but not very involved. Took my XJ slightly offroad this weekend finally for the first time. Only had it for 15 months now lol.

Welcome! You should definitely attend. We will have several people on the trails you can group together, or catch a seat with and learn the ropes if you are not familiar with offroad driving. Hope to see you out there.

Thanks. I'm on the fence but 90% toward it. Got the wife sign off so that's the biggest hurdle. :)

I'll be leaving Saturday morning. If you want to go up Saturday and follow you're more than welcome. Don't know what time i'm leaving just yet, but it'll probably be fairly early. Need to coordinate with Nick during the week to figure out a time.

Weather is looking fantastic this time around. 70's and sunny all weekend compared to 50's and pouring for the Spring Jamboree...

Well at least this time I will have the canopy with me this time if the weather decides to turn. I will be heading out on Friday after work to get on down there to get up with Scott and help start setting up the USFS booth and what not. I'm thinking a night run on Saturday is my chance to get on the trails.

I will be there Friday and Saturday helping with the event so I will see you guys out there. I should be the only 6'6" guy out there bouncing around in a Bobcat UTV in case anyone doesn't know what I look like. Haha.

I will have the "trash bags" for you...

Gonna have to get a few laps... I mean uh... surveys done in that there piece of equipment. I was a little too late last year.

Look forward to seeing ya again Eli.

I'm planning on arriving between 8-9 in the morning..depending on how I feel when I get up. Been fighting off some type of illness that's been going around for the majority of the week. Glenn is already up there at Arrowhead and Nick is in the process of piecing his D44 back together and hoping for the best.

Not exactly how I pictured the weekend starting off....

Thanks guys for taking the reins on this and helping out. Let us know how it goes.

It's wheeling. It never and I mean never goes as planned!!!!!

For anybody who may be coming, we are set up directly across from the nc4x4 booth.

Met yall briefly, was a pretty hectic day on the trails.

Bent my v8 zj tierod, winched it back out, not perfect but drove home with it, had pretty bad vibes at 40-50, had a spare tierod/draglink with me, but came across a guy on the trails with a built rubicon, tube fenders, genright stretch gastank, chromos and 38s, and he was running a stock stabalizer and stock steering. needless to say, it was tacod and un usable, I gave him my stock steering because otherwise I think he would have been stuck on the trail for a long time.

He was wheeling with a friend of mine, so im sure Ill get it back.

Oh, and I rode a side by side for the first time... Think I might be selling all my possesions and getting one lol

It was an excellent weekend. Wonderful weather for the Jamboree, met plenty of people at the booth. There are people that own cherokees that don't know about NAXJA! This is one of the reasons we do the booth, get our name out there and show our support for good responsible offroading.

We went on a quick night run Saturday around Rocky Mountain Loop. No breakage or getting stuck, just a fun small tire ride. That was the beginning of baby Ghost's impressive trail riding.

Today we got up and ran the big loop, Wolf Den-Dam-Dickey Bell-Rocky Mtn-Slab Pile-Wolf Den. Once again just a good smooth small tire run around. Glenn killed it in the baby Ghost again, never took a strap, even on the Dickey Bell Hill. He was fortunate though that they made the bypass on the top of that hill climb.

I still don't know how baby Ghost managed to reseat the exhaust hanger 100 yards from the trail hanger after getting knocked out earlier in the day. That was impressive.

I didn't wheel anything hard enough to notice the limited slip on the trail, but I could definitely tell it works and locks up tight when giving a little gas on the gravel roads.

Much thanks to Dave for the campsite, the good humor, and fixing my CB mic. Smack it on the dash... Oh hey look it works!

I'm ready to do it again.

I'm back! Had a hell of a time. Woke up to two flats on the trailer.... dropped it went to Troy then Albermarle and bought two new tires. Cam back, ate and hung out at the booth. Finally about 5 we decieded to do a night run... no head lights... Hot wired one light to get "Baby Ghost" on the trails. Did well.... however I did put some dents in the muffler... and some scratches. Was a great time.... oh yea I apparently can drive. :conceited

Despite the rough start we all got this weekend with Nick's gear issues, Glenn's trailer tires, and my being sick, I still had a great time. The weather was absolutely perfect this time and we had a good amount of interest in the group. I was really impressed with the interest we got this time around considering the fact that nearly everybody was on the trails all day enjoying the good weather, where as in the spring there were more people wandering the event due to wet/sloppy trails.

BIG thanks to Dave for letting the NC crew crash at the campsite last night...and for feeding us breakfast this morning. Had a blast telling stories and jokes around the fire last night as well. We've got a few new one-liners that only us will understand as a result!
