Volunteers needed URE Jamboree Oct. 13

Alright guys, the fall Uwharrie Jamboree is quickly arriving, October 13, and I need a count of people willing to volunteer to send to Scott ASAP. It is the clubs duties this time to provide some volunteer labor for simple things such as parking, set up/tear down, rti/games supervision, etc. Along with that, we will have a small booth that will need to be manned. Tim and I will handle setting up the booth, however we might need to rotate people in and out for other volunteer work/seeing the sights.

Here is the link to the Jamboree site:

Guys this is important. We are a huge factor in the trail work that has gone on and plan to continue that monetary support, our participation in the last Jamboree was a big success, and it would be great to expand our participation and efforts.

Post up in this thread if you can or are thinking you can make it so I can get a number back to Scott very soon. It's just an approximate number, you are more than welcome to show up and volunteer the day of, I'm sure we can find something for you to do.

The link works for me but it is a flash heavy site. The Jamboree is in Troy, North Carolina at the Eldorado Outpost. It is 1/4 mile down the road from the trails in the Uwharrie National Forest, which is the cause of the event. The goal is to raise awareness and participation in the efforts needed to maintain and keep these public trails open.

Also: free camping will be available for those who are volunteering.

As mentioned, i'll be there. Hopefully we won't run into heavy rain for the first half of the day like we did in the Spring. I know we've had a few more people in the NC/SC territory become active on here over the last couple of months...this is a great opportunity to come out and see what we're all about and give back to the sport we all enjoy!

Im in for lending a hand granted I dont have any kind of project to do for college.

Its great that the SEC will be involved with the Fall Jamboree. You guys and NAXJA in general have been instrumental in keeping the trails open, and we thank you guys for the ongoing support. I will be out there of course and hope to see you guys there.

Bumpity bump bump. Do some good, meet some friends old and new, and get some wheeling in all in one weekend! What a deal! I will also be digging through my parts bin and bring some stuff free to volunteers.

Important!!! Update for volunteers. We have been assigned tear down on Sunday. If you can, please make arrangements to be there on that day. Free camping is available for volunteers Friday and Saturday night. I will also be helping with the USFS/volunteer info booth so if someone could hang around our booth Saturday and/or rotate in and out with a couple others so we can keep that up while allowing everyone to get a chance to walk around or wheel.

Thanks y'all!

Just tried to reserve a camp site and most are booked. ELi... The lady said there was a lengh limit on site 19 of 15 feet. I have never heard of this. Do you know if I could park the truck and trailer there in Arrowhead somewhere other then my camp site?

Not that I am aware of the bath house space are tight. Are you planning to help on Sunday? We have camping available for volunteers at the training center, the large field in the back. That's where I will be staying.

IDK what I'm doing atm.... cut the rockers out this weekend.... so that leaves next to get it all back together.

Think I am going to make this trip actually...

If you guys need anything particular, let me know.

I have a fairly large canopy, though it sat outside a while and may be messed up, would need to unpack it and look.

Ill probably just drive the Xj up instead of towing like usual though, so space would be limited. Ill probably just camp on the trail, or lazy it up in the back of the xj if I stay over.

Dave aka Spanky got a camp site at arrowhead... that is where i will be...

I have a canopy, good on that. Right now the help we need is as stated, NAXJA responsibilities are the tear down on Sunday.

I'm on the fence about attending but if I make it I'll swing by and introduce myself. Been a member/lurker gathering info but not very involved. Took my XJ slightly offroad this weekend finally for the first time. Only had it for 15 months now lol.
