Visiting Illinois - Need Help

My wife and I are coming out to Illinois for a week in October. We've got a family reunion for two days, but are trying to figure out what to do with the rest of the time. Is there anything that you guys can recommend as a must visit/see while we're there? Thanks!

There are a lot of things to see and do.

We'll be in the northwest (Mt. Carroll/Savanna) -- but we don't mind traveling if there are several things to do in an area.

What kind of things interest you? Generally, that part of IL, in that part of the year most of the local action is down at the Grain Elevator.

Or you could always visit Sean's Sheep-O-Rama....

Actually, there is a big Haunted House out that way. I will try to find its name.

The minor league hockey team starts their season in Oct. Pretty darn good time for the price.

Bow and arrow deer season begins in Oct.

If you are in that area, go to Dubuque, IA.
Alot of cool things going on there.
A huge River musum and aquarium.
Dog track, Eagle Point park is AWESOME.

Also, Misissippi Palasdes State Park is in Savanna, real cool views of the river.
Leave the kids and go to Poopys Pub in Savanna, Harley Davidson shop, bar, resturant, and tatoo parlor all in one.

Galena is right up the road, all sorts of nifty wifey shops their. Great places to eat too.
Alot of music and live entertainment.
