TBI is less efficient than TPI or other MPFI for that matter. Also weighs as much as a tank.I'm thinking the mirrors are actually a factory option?
In any case, CLEAN swap! Lovin' the TPI, the L89 is a 5.7/350 with aluminum heads, right?
Our suburban with the L05 gets around 16mpg with the 700r4, how is that? It has a holley 2bbl TBI, with valve body mods on the tranny, but otherwise a fresh (under 50K) crate 350.
As much as I enjoyed my 3rd gen camaro with a mild built 350TPI, unless you really P&P the intake a runners well, that high end just is not there, but good for a Jeep with the LOW end TQ for sure.
As for LSx motors, the best way now I would say to get good power for a low price and durability, would be a LQ4/9 out of a GM fullsize. It is a cast-iron block, and you can swap the LS intake on it. Between the 2 the LQ4 has lower compression but makes the same power.
