USPS quit delivering my mail?

For some reason my mail man decided to quit delivering my mail starting Tuesday. He delivered all last week with no issues. In fact they have delivered the mail non-stop through 3 large storms, now 2 weeks after the last snow flake they quit delivering?

I got no notice neither did my neighbors, they haven't gotten any mail in 2 days either. My neighbor next to me called the post office and they told him the mail was non deliverable due to conditions near or around the mailbox. They said we could come to the post office and pick up our mail before 9:30 am each day! I work from 5am to 4:30pm?

I did clean out from in front of my mail box as soon as the snow stopped but VDOT plowed it in then the mailman packed it down to 8" of hard ice. I took a digging bar and chunked out the ice today and its actually worse than it was (it was just smooth ice with ice melt on top of it) but there is still no reason why the mailman will not pull up to my box and deliver my mail!

The mail trucks are still running chains since the roads are still icy.

There is nothing like working a very physical job for 11 hours then coming home and digging ice for another hour in the freezing temps.

This is my Wrangler in 2wd next to the box.

I don't get it!

Rant over:soapbox:

When we got dumped on here the mail service said they would not deliver unless the ice was cleared. It must have pissed off the neighborhood, because next thing you know CDOT was out here with a front end loader clearing the ice.

in real snowy areas they should have kept the mail jeeps

I guess the DJ5's were 2wd anyways.

Oh also, I used to hate on the 2wd JK's until i saw the buildup of one...think it was in JP. Great deal i guess in terms of JK's if your planning an axle swap anyways.

sorry, off topic, thats super messed up that they stopped your mail, My mailman even brings us the mail to the door sometimes.

My JK is 4wd, I was just showing I could get in and out of there in 2wd with no problem. We love our JK, great little Jeep.

carrier must have had a bad day/gotten lazy and claimed the boxes were 'undeliverable'. something screwy happened to me with usps recently too. i ordered a few (6) LED bulbs for the xj and they happened to ship via usps. they never showed up eventhough online said confimation of delivery. printed that out, went down to the post office and sure enough they were there. the postmaster gave me a real hard time when i asked her to simply check if they were there. you should have seen her face when she came back with the package, she didnt even want to talk about it anymore after she said it had never even left for delivery...

Your mailbox looks like it is on drugs.

Our mail carrier has to get out of the rig to put ours in the box. Same with the whole street. As much as we pay in taxes around here, if mail stopped coming, the township would hear about it from many people.

The mail "man" here is a young woman,She was real pissed when she had to give up her XJ and start delivering in one of those vans,Not happy to have to drive on chains and cannot get close to the mail boxes because of the design of the stupid van.
We didnt get mail for 2 days --never would have happened if she still had her XJ--

Early morning at our post office in the back looks like a jeep dealer, half dozen XJ and TJ's, all right hand drive, the carriers own them, every issue of the quadratec catalog is well thumbed through by the time I get it LOL...
We still have a pob, moved up here before delivery and got the POB, comes in handy so we kept it, they open the building at 7am and close it at 7pm plus it's open on sundays till 5 [not the window, just the POB access].

Nothing stops our carriers.

wow either u have one spoiled opr lazy mail carrier. Hell we have feet of snow and our hot mail lady still comes to deliver.

Still no mail today or a notice as to why they will not deliver. I'm going to the post office tomorrow morning to discuss the issue with the route supervisor. My other neighbors got their mail today.

Did you give your Christmas bonus? We always leave a nice present in the mailbox.

Nope, never have at this location. Actually I don't know anyone in my neighborhood who does that. When I lived on the farm we did leave a Christmas present but those rural route drivers catch hell during the winter. The suburban drivers have it easy.

I have the box completely cleared of ice/snow in front of it and 12 feet to each side of it all the way to the yard. There is no reason why this person is not delivering my mail and if there is a reason, a notice would be nice.

Take some pics, print them out and take them with you.

I did and I had video of me pulling up to my mail box and away without any issues with my Jeep in 2wd. The supervisor refused to look at the pics or videos. He went into the back and talked with the driver, the driver told him that my box had not been cleared as of yesterday and he was still not able to deliver the mail. While I was in there several other neighbors showed up to complain as well. Apperently further up the street they are having issues. One lady told me that her box has 2 other boxes beside it, one on each side. Those 2 other boxes are being delivered but hers is not. The next set of boxes down from me are a good 3' from the edge of the plowed snow and they are getting delivered as well. It looks like the mailman is just being a a$$hat.
