Used handgun blue book?

Anyone have access to look up the blue book value of a used handgun for me? I don't want to pay to look up the value of just one gun.

I am considering purchasing a Glock 27. The owner is selling it for $400. After shipping, insurance, etc, he said that price is $426. Comes with one box of .40 ammo and 4 clips. Original owner, and he has only shot 10 boxes of shells through it.

I can buy a brand new Glock 27 for close to $500, so I would like to know if this is a good value. He bought it new in 1999. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

For $100 more I'd buy the new one. I prefer XD's but the glock isn't a bad gun. Of course you won't have the extras. So if its in excellent shape with only 500 rounds through it I see no problems with buying used.

My Brownells dealer cost on the 11 round Glock 27 mags is $34.85 ea.

I Fixed it for you. For future reference gunbroker is a good place to check going prices on guns. Sounds like a good deal to me if the gun is as good as he says it is. Im assuming its being shipped within state since you didnt mention a transfer fee.

I would look up the laws on shipping a gun. They are VERY VERY strict. When I had mine shipped it was easier/cheaper to ship it from 1 gun shop to another. Alot of the shops will do it for a fee. To get my fathers 30-30 from NH to Texas it ran me 130 and that was shipping plus the fee from the gun shop. It has sentimental value so it was worth it.
Ammo is illegal to ship through the mail of any sort last I knew. The dealer be the exception. Last I knew but I may be wrong.

My bottom line advice is to check it out. I would save the hassle and buy a new one if its only about 70.00 more.

That is not a bad price if that is the final price ($426), the best place to judge the price of a gun is gunbroker.com, it is basically the ebay of guns.

I thought I would give an update. The day before I was going to pay the guy for the gun I referred to in the original post, I found an even better deal. I found a guy that was selling a brand new Glock 27 (only had a test round fired), 100+ rounds, a leather holster, cleaning kit, etc. for only $425. He has law enforcement hookups and didn't need it afterall.

To avoid the hassle of shipping, I drove 2.5 hours there to go buy it. I just made an afternoon trip with my wife and we had a good time.

On a side note, I am now having mixed feelings about owning a handgun because my brother-in-law accidentally got shot in his upper left leg yesterday afternoon when his uncle was showing us his 32 caliber Beretta Tomcat. He had the mag out and thought the chamber was empty. He forgot that you have to tip back the barrel so the chambered shell will fall out on that particular model instead of just racking the slide. Long story short, miracles do happen because my brother-in-law was discharged from the hospital that same evening and will be okay.

Guns are like cars... use them long enough and something will happen... just because you see a car accident, it doesn't mean you stop driving.

I am really gun shy right now, but I think it just has to do with witnessing that yesterday. It may be a while before I carry again though, but I don't think this will make me sell mine.

Never point a weapon at something you're not willing to destroy. Your brother made a few stupid mistakes by first pointing it at himself, and second by pulling the trigger. May sound harsh but it's true, it is lucky he's fine.

Just use common sense when handling it and you will have a very fun and safe new toy/tool.
