URGENT: Moab 16x8's and 305/70/16; Spacers????

So, I just ordered some 305/70/16 Firestone M/T's for my Cherokee. Mine is a 98 with Rusty Cut out's and 6" of lift(4.5 springs, shackles/spacers) and RC Control arm drop brackets with Rustys control arms.

After peeking at the Jeep, Im wondering if my New tires will scrub on the leaf spring. Im also worried about the tires hitting my Lower control arm or the drop brackets.

Anyone have any experience with a similar set up? What offest are Moab wheels? What seller has the best prices on hubcentric wheel spacers?

Thanks,
Brian

they'd rub the control arm if anything and i think you'll be fine. I know the moabs have a larger offset than steel XJ wheels. Worst thing that'll happen is you'll have a smaller turning radius for a week while you buy wheel spacers.

As far as wheel spacers go: just pay attention to the metal (usually made from aluminum) and you'll be fine.

I run 1.25" billet adapters (like spidertrax units) with my Moabs, running a 285/75/16 tire. Rub free.

XJEEPER: do you have any good photos of your Jeep with this setup?

Also, where has the best prices on some Hub Centric spacers???

I've got flex shots, static shots, glamour shots by Deb............

Here's some of this tire/wheel/spacer setup on my 89 in Area BFE

Don't overlook the need to tune your bumpstops to keep the tires out of the fenders. I get some rubbing on the flares under full flex....but it's very slight due to proper bumpstopping. A 305 will likely rub more and may require some minor trimming.

lol i know i just now realized it was his jeep!!!
XJEEPER: Thanks i appreciate it, Both rigs look great, expecially the ROTM. I actually have Rusty cut out flares on my jeep, and 6" of lift so Im not too terribly worried about hitting the tops of the fenders on full flew or anything. I actually mounted 35's on it the other day and if i could slide my axle back about .5" or so i would be able to clear a 35x12.5, so Im sure these 33's would be good as ar as vertically is concerned. Im pretty anxious to see them mounted!!

Thanks guys, still open for suggestions on where to buy some spacers that are hub centric and not $100(ouch) a pair

why do you need hub centric spacers? lug centric spidertrax's work fine for everyone else who can afford $100/pair. if you cant afford that, buy a used set.

I run 315 75 16 KM2's on my Moabs with the Spidertrax spacers and I rub my long arms just a smidgen. Nothing that worries me though. Still turns better than my Ranger so Im happy! X2 on the bump stops, they are a must have!

It's not that hub centric would cheaper or more expensive it is that Hub centric is better than Lug centic, and i want hub centric. Why do you think wheels are made from the factory to be hub centric? it is better to have the hub support the wheels than the lugs.

Hub Centric rings are sold for this purpose too...

But 100$ for some machined aluminum discs is A LOT of money..lol 60$ for Rough Country's sounds a lot more appealing. Hell, for my BMW M3 i had Hub Centric spacers made from a local shop for 55$ a pair. Spidertrax is just really expensive for what your paing for i guess is what Im getting at.
