hahaha. i got it for christmas several years ago. my parents bought it from an unfinished furniture place. i then took some "waterman's wood protectant" and coated it. i grew up around fisherman and they would cover all their wood in their boats with a heavy clear coat of this shilack stuff. so i used that. my parents were mad as all hell. but now they love it cause i can drop a brick on it w/out messing it up. and i kinda like the way it looks on the wood.
