Upper bumpstops(longer)?

I think Daystar sells a 4" extened bump stop.

4" Da** I thought there were a couple of people that had 1" extended. I'll check out Daystar right now though thanks!

Or - you could just buy some hockey pucks and glue them down at the axle end inside the coil where the bump stops would hit. The're about 1" thick and you could stack them if you need more limitation.

I have always heard the hockey puck thing both for bump stops and body lifts in other vehicles, how well do they hold up? Do they get soft quick? Anyone know?

I hosed down the spring perches with brakes parts cleaner, to remove any grease or oil. The put a big blob of RTV on the perch. Slide the puck between the coils of the spring. (I had to jack up the front to extend the spring a bit - spreading the coils.) then smush the puck onto the RTV until it starts to oooze out around it. Don't push too far, you want a layer of RTV between the puck and the perch. I actually took a hand grinder with a small cutter on it and scroed the bottom of the puck.

When I went to swap my springs, I had a HARD time getting them OFF! No, they won't go soft. The rubber in the spring tower (upper bumpstop) will give out long before the puck will...

Put mine on while the springs were out.... drilled a hole in the spring pads and bolted them on... On the passenger side you can't get under the pad, so I just tapped the hole...

I didn't know that the MJ bumpstops were 1" longer. I'll see how much my buddy at the Stealership can get them for.
I've already bolted the lowers like RobS.
Also, Mad4wd sells Prothane that are an 1.5" longer.
Thanks again for the reply! Hope to see you guys at Winterfest!!

I went to the boneyard armed with a hacksaw and cut a pair off a wrecked XJ - then trimmed to fit with the grinder and welded them on - simple easy and cheap...

I use a pair of tomken 3" bumps that go into the coil perches mainly just to keep the end of the spring from falling off the perch at full droop...
