Upgrading Headlights

So I've decided I'm tired off my super dim stock headlights, my 55w fog lights make them look like they're not even on. What upgrades/mods should I do to get them actually putting out some light? Thanks

I feel like being nice sooo....

Firstly you could look into upgrading the wiring harness

Then you could look into swapping bulbs and housings

And really the most expensive/brightest is the HID option

Search those keywords, you will find more information than you could read on those subjects. Good luck.

i think there worth it. I droped one on the drive way when i was putting in the wireness and it didnt even scratch it. The back side has a dust cover over the the clamps that hold the light in

For the most part, you get what you pay for. Most of the issues people have with the autopals is fitament and it not staying the housing bracket snug.
I have the IPF H4 housings, worth every penny.
 
In one of the many other threads, it was claimed that the Deltas are Chinese housings with a sticker and hefty markup. There's a lot of stuff in the world of carparts that gets the same treatment- if it's cheap, people say it's crap. Put a different logo on it and mark up the price, and they'll sing its praises.

Almost anything is better than 10yr old sealed beams on stock wiring.

Autopal e-codes with xantech(I think, not sure on spelling) HID kit is a decent light for under $200. Some people say the HID's will glare without a projection lense, and although this is normally true, the e-codes do a good job at minimizing glare and blinding other drivers. I have mine aimed just a little higher than stock low beams lit up and have not been flashed.

They put outa very bright, white light. I like them a lot. I tried Hella housings, silverstar, etc before but none come close to this.

After shipping you can get a set of e-code autopals(not the crystal) for 42.95 and a set of Raptor V2 hi/lo H4 HID's from ddmtuning.com for 73 bucks. Got my autopals( well one i smashed the other one:doh: but I have a spare) and upgraded harness in last night, now i need to install the HID kit after WF.
 
[FONT=&quot]A word of warning about the Autopals; the glass is very thin.
It was hard to get them installed tight but it was very easy to break both of them in a few days driving on the dirt and gravel roads of Death Valley.

The glass is really thin and will not stand up to small rocks.
You get what you pay for.

Have had the Hella H4 housing for 10 years and have performed well....
Built a headlight harness about 9 years ago and what a difference. The voltage to the headlights went from 11.6V to 13.8V.
Definitely recommend either building or buying a headlight harness.
The harness will even make the stock headlights brighter....
