Before I ask these questions just let me say that I know this works, I have seen it work, I have made it work, and will continue to make it work. SOOOOOO if your the type of asshat pseudo scientist that wants to throw 100 different theories at me as to why this won't work, Feel free to write your theories down on paper, roll them up nice and tight, shove them as far up your ass as humanly possible, and try to fart confetti, OK!?
NOW, to the questions......to those of you who have built cells, have you experimented with different electrolites? In all that I have built I use Roebic's Crystal Drain Opener (available at most hardware stores, I buy mine at lowes). It is 100% lye, so be careful handling it, but it works very well. I start with pure distilled water in the cell, then with my power supply hooked up to it I add the lye until i draw between 8 and 10 amps. Works very very well. Also, have you tried pulsing the current? I use a simple control circuit copied from one of those conspiracy sites that the aforementioned asshats are so afraid of, and that makes a HUGE difference in gas output! Also, if you are using flat plates (which you should be) lightly sanding the plates will greatly reduce the ammount of bubbles stuck to the plates.
