unbearably bouncy ride after IRO 3" lift

can you post a pic of your rig? Did you have to do SYE?

I can post some photos, its dark out now, so they will be kinda crappy, but give me a few minutes.

As for the SYE, I bought the Jeep already lifted with OME springs, and the PO installed a .75" TC drop, so I'm assuming it needed an SYE with that lift. I personally hate transfer case drops, because it just adds more random angles to the situation (ie: front drive shaft), so one of the first things I did when I got it was installed an AA SYE, and had my front drive shaft rebuilt and balanced. I then picked up a nice low mile SYE from the JY, and had it balanced, and run it as my front DS.

This shows the shackle angle, and also the brackets. You can see that I cut out a 1"x2" area of the bracket, which allows my shackle to freely rotate "up" into, when I bounce, or when I'm weighted in the back.

Add in one more extremely satisfied customer of the HD Off-road shackle boxes. LOVE mine. I ended up readjusting the bolt a couple times to get the rake and ride I wanted, but wow, night and day - like everyone said.

I did his other box, as opposed to the one pictured above. I had to cut out the shackle box for mine. Cut and never looked back. if you are interested in pics I can post some later. I'm on my phone now and can't do the photobucket thing this way.

Get some Bilstein shocks

I readjusted mine 3 times, and I'm using them in the "slots" for a more precise adjustment. Which is another reason to love these, they have a pretty finite amount of adjustment, and once you do it a few times it's really not hard, and doesn't take very long to do.

Post a picture of your shackle angle already, people can assume all day long...but like the old saying "a picture is worth a thousand words."

I saw a question asked that I didn't see your answer. Did you have the jeep on the weight of the tires when you snugged up the shackle and leaf spring bolts?

To be honest, that shackle angle isn't ideal, but it shouldn't be the ride quality that you are describing. I think it may just be that your springs are new and haven't been broken in yet...

What he said...compounded with cheap shocks
