cool. well it looks like thats going to be a winner. the Uhaul 6x12 is reserved for us on the 20th of jan. looks like we'll be heading back sooner than mid feb. we cannot stand this place, and my mother and karen have been getting into it lately. seems like my mom thinks that if we move back to colorado, we will be poor the rest of our lives. see, out here they think that if you dont live in a house large enough for a small army, drive a mercedes, have a $100,000 credit limit credit card, and a bunch of material shit, then you cannot live a productive life. she just cant understand how i could ever be happy making a living in construction, and living in a small house with my beautiful wife and son... she just doesnt think happyness exists outside of a shopping mall... yes, i grew up in a million dollar house and was handed stuff my whole life. I am NOT proud of it, nor do i think i was lucky. My son will work for every penny i give him, and will not be raised to believe that money is happiness.

im seriously consitering cutting all ties with my family for quite some time. they are all clueless and absolutely oblivious to reality.

Nah, don't go getting bitter and angry with 'em - they're worth too much money in the end when they're gone.... think Inheritance.... Just man-up like you've been doing and show them how wrong they are. Send them the annual christmas card showing your happy, healthy family and write the annual letter telling about your lives. That'll shut 'em up. :thumbup:

haha good idea. thanks Troy. I dont know what ever got me thinking we should move back east... my parents made it out to seem like the economy here was AMAZING, and id have a ton of work. I also thought that having a free place to live would help us save money, which it is, but the drama and stress of my family makes it not even worth it.

ive had numerous ads up on CL for handyman and remodeling work and have received one call. as a matter of fact, there are guys (probably illegals) waving down any truck they see passing by trying to get day labor. the economy is shit here, just like everywhere else. Even my grandfathers bathroom i was supposed to remodel fell through... he simply told me "i dont feel like spending the money on that right now".

whats funny is that since we have been in VA, i have received numerous emails from clients in colorado asking for quotes on hardwood floor installs, kitchens, and bathrooms... so all in all, im actually LOSING money by staying here.
