Saturday and Sunday after Thanksgiving we'll be running up to TSF. Everyone is welcome, the more the better. I'll be bringing along 2 guys with toyotas and possibly 2 other people in town with XJ's.

Let me know if you want to join in so we can setup a meeting spot.

As mentioned before, I'm in. Might be able to drag one or two more people along with me.

TSF: Tillamook State Forest also known as Brown's Camp. There are multiple rock gardens, and trails though the trees.

It's off Highway 6.

If you wanted to come along, there would be two ways to get there.
1) Take I5 south until you reach the Highway 26 West Exit which I believe is just after the big series of bridges that go through portland. Once your on Highway 26 you'll go west for about 20-25 minutes and then turn off on Highway 6 which will take you right to Browns Camp on the left hand side of the road. However, if you've never been before you will need to stop and pick up an ORV permit which is $10.50 and is good for 2 years.

I find this route to be faster for me, especially heading home.
2) For you it would be take I5 South to exit 36 which would plop you out on Tennet Way in Longview, take a left at the light with the Burger King and AMPM (15th ave) and stay on that road till you cross a big bridge(which you can see from the intersection). You'll want to head towards Rainier/St.Helens on Highway 30. Stay on Highway 30 through Ranier, St.Helens and Scappoose. About 10 minutes after Scapoose on your right hand side will be the Cornelius junction. Which you will take and follow that to Highway 26, from there you'll stay on 26 for about 10-15 minutes and then cut over to Highway 6.

I will be taking route #2, minus the I5 part as I'm already in Longview.

Here are some threads with pics from TSF

ahh, thats just for the campground. trail wise, check this site for latest updates/closures. I'm pretty sure you can run most trails year round, however it is usually the popular ones they do close for the winter. Check this link for most recent updates/closures. They post signs/block off closed trails as well.

Looks like my jeep is begging to get toasted. We want to run Crushers that weekend. I've never done it before but as long as I get my winch here soon then I can finish my bumper and I'll get it done. Everyone is welcome to come and watch/spot/ride along. We'll set up camp at a yet to be determined spot but we'll set up a fire and ya'll can come and "burn a weiner" or "melt a mallow" or just hang out when the sun has gone down.

Please post if your interested in going.

I assume Crushers is a difficult trail in TSF? Been there before, just don't know trail names. :) I'm still working on finding some more people for the 26th/27th

I might be in for Saturday. I posted on Timbercrawler too. I'll be in Astoria for Turkey Day and will probably be headed down early Sat. morning just for the day. I will finalize my plans and let you know.

Anybody still interested in going even though most trails have been closed?

If you guys arent interested in Browns, I may go up to do some snow wheeling near Woodland, anyone is welcome again.

Just like to find out if the people who wanted to go originally would still like to go.
