Truggy is home!

you guys with 40's what gears are you running at the axles? and 4:1 tcase or stock?
I have very cheap 4:10 available but wanna be sure thats gonna be deep enough? Id rather wait and buy the right ones than wanna change it later!

street Driving really not of big concern, gonna be a trailer queen!

friend of mine runs 4.10:1 in his 60s with 40s and a doubler, but it's a stopgap measure till he feels like spending money on gears. Not a permanent solution, it's pretty much a dog on the road.

With the doubler he seems to do just fine offroad however.

ax15 or aw4 don't touch 4.10s they are a waste of cash ...the 231 and 5.13s does plenty well with the stock 2.72 case it yields about 40:1 crawl ratio which is even better if you have the aw4 since the actual crawl in 1st gear with converter is much better than the 40:1 . The 40:1 ratio is a ratio that will work for you on the rocks and on stuff that you still need wheel speed . I would not waste my cash on a Teralow they are known to have issues with their planetary gearset and don't tolerate wheel speed . When i do ante up for an Atlas it will be a 4spd not a 2sp they are not much more than the 2spd and there are no trade offs .

Already has a terra in it. And the 410 for front.

Well then may aswell just drop in 4.10 rear ...it will only be a mild issue on the road in high range , as offroad with a 4.0 you will never leave Low range anyway unless it's a flat dirt road . with a 4:1 case final gear ratio is about 64:1 3.83 x 4.0 X 4.10 . should be fine ...the 5.13s woul give about an 80:1 ...which is about what you get in 1st gear with a stock 2.72 case 5.13s and an AW4 due to the Converter ...5:13---5.38s would be a bit better , but it's not like the 4.10 will not work pretty well infact they should have no issue on the trails here from Independence to Carnage ...lol...put the cash into parts you really need to get on the trail .

And I found a 4:1 set for the 14 bolt for $50 so I'm gonna do that just to good a deal to pass up! Plus like I said ill most likely never drive in hi range anyway! ThNks huys

On my YJ I ran 40ish tires with an AX15, 231/D300 doubler, and 4.56's.

When I was running Liberty(course, I do have a stick) with my 4-1, 4.11's, and 33's, I was wishing for some lower gears. It's about the only time I've wanted them.

Yea, I think I'm gonna do the 4:11s for now I may regret it having to do it all over again, but its all but free for the time being and I don't really have the budget for deeper gears at the moment!

Btw. truggy moved under his own power tonight! Only a few feet cause still no brakes or steering! But still progress is coming! Planning to at Least have him rolling by the weekend!

First ride in truggy! She moved about 200 ft today, not too far still gotta gotta stop fer gas the brakes hooked up and get some shocks on the front! But she's coming along! Should be drivable by the weekend!

Bahaahahaha. That's a good one Jim! Got the coils off and the air shocks mostly mounted up yesterday, brakes are hooked up and went to bleed them yesterday until I realized there where no bleeder screws! Ugh and it was after parts house hrs! So had to get some today!

Still need front DS and new stub shafts up front! And gotta decide what imma do for shocks up front! What do you guys think? Put the coilovers for the ack up front or just mount up the WE remote res shocks I already have they 14" same as the coil overs! And both will require some serous reworking up front as they are both waaaaaaay to tall as it sits now
