Ok well here is my story... Im going to have to back out of the Calico event. My Dad just got back from Rubicon yesterday and he is all stoked about his Jeep now because he made it w/ no troubles and his friend had all kinds of stuff go wrong... oh well but ANYWAYS i was telling him about Calico and he said we should find somewhere else to go because it will blazing hot and after today i agreed.:sunshine:

I work two jobs and FOUGHT to get the weekend of the 30th and 31st off and i happened so i want to spend it doing something relaxing and fun. Hence the trip to the Pismo ahhh beach and dunes. I love it.

So the weekend of the 30th and 31st we (Myself my girlfriend and Dad are going to head out there) Im probably going to recruit some of my other friends that have trucks that want to come along but we'll see what happens. Let me know if you are down to head out there. I will be leaving at ~3 pm on Friday night and coming home ~12pm on Sunday. I live in East County. :us:

Sounds good, let me get back to you....

Okay...I'll be there around 9-10am Saturday and stay til Sunday morning. Should be 2 XJ's and maybe am MJ with me. See you there.

Ya think?

I'm trying to talk the E-man into it. From what I understand is that the sand is pretty firm and the bikes would get along fine without paddles on the back. I've never ridden on dunes but have heard it's a fun place to harm a persons body!

Tim,

I'm probably gonna take my bike (71 Yamaha 360) and it does just fine with out a paddle. The dunes at pismo are so small anyway, so most bikes are okay without paddles. Paddles are for those people who have to be first up the hill, I prefer to enjoy the squirrellyness of the rear end.

Hope to see you there.

Wrong Tim,:twak:

While I was asking my eldest son if he would like to tag along he reminded me that we will be in Vegas, shopping. Our feminine side is trying to show itself, again. :laugh3:

Not that I would have needed it but I actually picked up a paddle tire yesterday. A free paddle tire. Not that I would even need it but you know how it is.

Okay,

Jeeps breaking left and right...first an axle on my XJ, then a stalling problem on my wifes, then the exhaust is torn off mine? I just can't win. And on top of that I can't find a trailer to bring my bike on. But after being at my shop for the last 12 hours (only 3 on my Jeep), I have finally come up with a couple new forged axles installed and a new flowmaster and Cat installed.

So....My new XJ count for pismo

My XJ (wife and me)
Neighbors XJ (him and two buddies)
My dirtbike (If I can get a trailer)

See you there probably Saturday Morning around 10am.

My wife cell is 909-919-0513 just in case.

I told him that i could not go way before hand... he still wanted to go. Maybe you dont remember i broke my rear center pin on the leaf and had no time to fix it until saturday and that is to late to leave for Pismo from El Cajon.

In his defense...He did tell me he couldn't make it...lucky bastard :)

I broke both front shocks, window switch ($150), and lost my cat and muffler! All in 22 hours!

And on top of that, I only got to ride my bike for 10 minutes total.

I have a feeling the damage was not done on the freeway ;) He cant complain though...he should know better =P

NEVER got air...I squished out the rubbers, because those crappy rough country shocks come with little tiny washers. So the rest of the trip I got to here them clunk up and down...even on road. The window switch has been acting up for quite awhile, but it finally quit altogether. The exhaust was just a poor mounting job...my fault, but it's better now.
