Trimming/Vents and O'Side M&G

I have some LeBaron hood vents which I purchased from Casm. If anyone has done this before and would like to help me out with installing them, I would greatly appreciate it. Doesn't seem too hard but I would prefer not to risk cutting something I shouldn't on my hood...I also may be acquiring some 31" tires and see a couple places I need to trim for them to fit good and still have some space. This I most likely could do on my own, but again, this is the first time a Sawzall will touch my XJ and don't want to screw anything up. Depending on how many are interested in anything like this we could mee at someone's place or if mine will be the only Jeep being worked on, we could go on-base and use the facilities there ($5/hr for a lift or $5 a day for a stall with free tools of just about any type you could need...)

And for the other half, is there still a M&G going on down here in O'Side? I know we did them a couple times in the past and I heard they were still happening but haven't heard anything since so let me know...

Anyone with questions or answers or just smart-aleck remarks :D can reach me here or you can PM me for my cell #.

Anybody? No one in the Oceanside area want to lend a hand or have a get-together? Them Orange County folks are havin all the fun, we need some M&G's goin on down here! :D

There is still a M&G that goes on the first Tuesday of the mounth in Vista.
It is a socalxj thing but anyone is welcome. Most of the people there are also
members on here.

Where does this usually occur? I've wanted to sign up at SoCalXJ but am limited by the fact that my work omputer (the only one I have internet on) doesn't go to Yahoo!...

If you can find another one to sign up on (friends house, coffee shop, library, etc) you can have the SoCalXJ list go to your personal email (hotmail, gmail, etc). If you can get to gmail I can set you up with an account. You never have to go to yahoo, except for that one time to sign up.

If you want, PM me and I can help you get going.

It's the first Tuesday of every month, Lamppost Pizza, right next to the Krikorian movie theater in Vista.

15 Main St, Vista, CA (760) 407-7600

same here, i have been wanting to meet some people south of LA. like mabie even San Diego.

What time will this be?
Also, I won't necessarily need to trim as I am keeping the 30's, but I would still like to get these hood vents done. Anybody want to help out?

Sounds like a good way to meet a few people, I have already trimmed for 33's and I have my vents installed but I can throw my .02 cents around

6pm or so. everyone usually trickles in between 6 and 7. and we usually cut out about 9ish.
good pizza :lickout: , good beer  , and great scenery :eyes:

I Haven't installed hood vents yet but I'm pretty good with a air saw... :wierd: Anyway I have a instructions on how to do them and I have cut my share of sheet metal. So if you want some help screwing them up together I would love to come up and help. If you don't have a compressor or air saw I could bring both.

BTW the meeting sound like a lot of fun, I was beginning to think that there were no NAXJA members in San Diego

I don't have a compressor or air saw, but I have access to the auto hobby shop on base where I can get just about anything and a stall to work in as well...

If you wear NAXJA gear to the 'SoCalXJ' M&G, you're buying all the beer. :)
Ask Dave T. about his dual purpose NAXJA/SoCalXJ hat mod. It's a rough crowd, you've got to roll with the tide.

Can I get on base? My car is not registered since 1972 and I have a record... No Not Really. But doesn’t the Hobby Shop close at like 7pm? I don't get off work untill 4:30-5:00 so that isn't much time. You could always bring it to my shop if you wanted. Or we could do it on a weekend. Let me know.

you could get on base, but if its easier on you to do this at your shop, then we can come down there.
