Tranny/T-case help!

Alright, I will do my best to describe what is going on with my Jeep, but bear with me lol.

99 XJ, 4.0, AW4 tranny, 231t-case, hack n tap SYE w/ front drive shaft in rear.

Not too long ago I began developing some minor driveline vibes, but didn't think too much of it (with 215,000 miles on the Jeep, i'm used to noises). On my way to work one day, while merging onto 225, the vibes got considerably worse, and even violent by the time I pulled over. Upon inspection, my rear CV driveshaft was toast, alright no biggie just a new driveshaft. So I swapped my front driveshaft onto the rear, and figured I would be good to go. Well that was not the case. The Jeep wont move at all when put in gear, and there are no noises coming from the tranny or t-case. The rear output won't move, and the front won't move when put into 4, almost seems like the t-case is stuck in neutral. Jeep is not throwing any codes either. I don't know if the driveshaft and my current issue are tied together, or if it's just coincidental, but i'm lost. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

It sure is acting like It's in neutral, I will have to climb underneath and triple check.

If the tcase is in neutral you should be able to move the front and rear yokes.

If the tcase is in neutral, with the driveshafts disconnected, you should be able to move the front and rear yokes.

I hope it is simple.

Both drive shafts are disconnected, and I can turn both yokes by hand.

Are you able to turn them while in any gear, and with the t-case shifted into any of it's selections?

Does the t-case shifter feel like it normally does when moving it through the selections? Or does it feel different than it used to?

I'd start with putting the trans in park, t-case in 2 high. If the rear output yoke turns, you've got issues.

Really surprised theres no noise coming from the t-case with the engine running, trans in drive.......

Where is the Jeep now? Still stuck somewhere or did you get it home?

I can turn the yokes while in any gear, and any tcase selection. The tcase shifter doesn't feel abnormal to me. The Jeep is at home. It's an auto tranny

Kinda sounds like the detent on the selector shaft is working as it should then if you're feeling the "clunk, clunk, clunk" as you pull back on the shifter handle. I'm guessing that the shift fork crapped out and it's stuck in neutral.

Couldn't tell ya what the vibrations would have been from and can't come up with a reason vibes would kill the shifter fork or keep it from going into gears.....

If that's a high mileage t-case then maybe it'd just be best to replace it.

If you've got the time to pull your case, you could bring it by my place Saturday afternoon or Sunday. I'll be around and we could gut it and see what's going on with it first.

The vibes were from my rear drive shaft taking a crap, so I don't know if that DS flopping around under there could have caused the issue, or if its all just coincidental.

Alright, so after messing with shifter/linkage some more, the tcase appears to be shifting just fine. When in park and 2h, everything is locked up as it should be. When in D and 2h the front yoke spins freely, and the rear yoke spins with very minor resistance. When in D and 4h the front and rear yokes are locked together, and spin with minor resistance, and with the tcase in neutral, both yokes spin freely, but in all the different phases, no engine power is being sent to the tcase. I'm lost
