We are going to visit family in Billings and are going to yellowstone while we are there. Are there any Scenic trails in either direction?

Check out Gallatin NF, lots of scenic drives in the area. South of Bozeman.
I ran Sweetwater road from Dillon Montana towards Virginia City's Ghost towns into Beaverhead Deerlodge NF. Very nice ride.
Cant go wrong in the area.

Benbow Rd is the only one that really sticks in my head, but I don't get over to Billings that often. You might check out the Magic City 4x4 site and chat up some of those guys. I'm sure you could find more than a few willing to give you advice and/or a guided tour.
