I am going to replace the track bar I currently have with one that I will be making. The current setup is a cutdown RE HD bar and bracket:

My new one will re-use the Super-Flex coupler from the old bar. I have 1" all-thread that I will weld into 1.3125 .188 DOM. I also have a new RE track bar bushing. The new bar will mount up to a T&T bracket.

Questions: I was planning on using the bushing at the axle end, but I also have some QA1 heims and tube adapters. What would the benefits, or drawbacks, of using a heim at the axle end? Any other comments on my plans?

a HEIM at the axle end wouldn't really have a benefit because it only moves in one axis, where as HEIM's are designed for multi-axis applications. also, it would give a harsher ride because you're removing a rubber bushing that isolates some vibrations.

What got you to this point, anyway? Did you just wake up this morning and say, "I'm sick of the darn thing and i am going to make one!"

Could just imagine it! Stumbling out of bed, mumbling, "Hate dat trackbar!" (Kicks cat and continues to bathroom to brush teeth)
