trac loc question

pulled a dana 44 out of an 87 xj and it has the factory trac loc, but has only 3.54 gears. Will the trac loc accept 4.10 or will i have to go with a different carrier.

There are others on here that can reconfirm or tell you differently but I believe the case break is 3.92.

So, yes you will have to change the carrier.

the TL is a 3.73 and down carrier, in order to run 4.10's etc you'll have to get "thick" gears. the thick gears are adapted to run with the low carrier, most gear companies make them

I also have a d44 w/ Trac lock and want to run 4.88. Do I need a new carrier?
