How's that for OffTopic? I have my hardtop/pop up camper set up in the back yard and want to move it to a different area of the back yard. I can get my WJ back there but have to move a section of fence--Pain in the @$$. The camper is about 1500/1600lbs. Would I do any damage to my mower moving this trailer. Total drive length would be approx 40 feet BTW. I googled 'er and just get trailer capacity but no answer on towing ability. Thanks

that is some funny sh$t!

I thought about it myself with my car hauler.

I doubt it'll work...you may need to put some off-setting weight in front of the mower!?

LOL...

I used to move my truck bed trailer with mine when I would mow under it. It is on 35" tires, but doesn't weigh much. When it hit a bump in the yard it was more than the transaxle on the mower could handle. The motor would bog down a bit, but the transaxle would just whine and not go anywhere. That was an 18hp MTD.

On level ground with a rock hard yard it may be able to do it. If there is any slope, or the ground is soft you are probably going to cook your transaxle fluid (which is not servicable on newer MTDs).

How do you know his is a Hydro?

OP, is yours gear drive or hydro? If its gear drive you could try it (though im not sure if itll go anywhere), but with a Hydro I wouldnt try it.

A buddy of mine moves vehicles around in his yard all the time with his Yard Man and it's a 16 HP I think. One of them is a 78 Jeep Wagoneer full size. The other is my Ranger.

Local mech I know and wheel with moves cars with his old Murry all the time. He built a rack to push them with on the front and put ATV tires on the rear.

Lawn tractors are used to move campers, and boats around all the time.

An airport I worked at for a while used an old Simplicity to cut the grass and move planes around :)
