Tough Looking XJ on front cover of FourWheelParts Rag

Great idea, having long flexible lines for the tranny up to the hood.

Its not the XJ, its what he does with it that draws my interest. It is refreshing to see that some people actually build their Jeeps with a purpose that transcends pointless trail running. For this reason, I hold Sven and Magdalena in the highest regard.

omfg. i know most are aware, but for those who are not, ora is not a "mag", it's a muy grande advert. enjoy your day.

thatthing has like 500 lbs ont he top of it. that rack and all the crap on it is like the straw that broke the camels back but instaed of a camel a jeep and instead of a straw a rack with 500 lbs of crap on it. hahaha nvm if you get your car worked on at 4wheel parts do they put a massive sticker on yuor windsheild or do people do that themselves?

While not the most built rig, this gets my respect: They just shipped the fawker over to AU to circumnavigate the continent. That's my dream, man.

I wish I had a trust fund :(

I would hope that he has some spare axles and steering and steering box brace and trac bar...I though my rig weighed a lot...

x2 on what Sean said... Even if it isn't the best rig, he's getting paid to travel the world with it. That kicks my job's a$$...

He's got his old hood box, rear seat and some other stuff in the NAXJA for sale forum right now... I think he only wanted like $20 for the hood box, that's if you want to pay to block even more of your view and have your hood weigh more when you try to work under it...

OK, so maybe most wouldnt havent built their XJ similar...who gives a fawk what you think? :rattle:

The guy built what he needed, for what he intended to do! And i applaud him for it.

Not everyone is into rockcrawling...i also am rebuilding my XJ to be more of an expedition vehicle. I too have a trip to Alaska planned and another to Yellowstone and Glacier NP's in a few months. Does that mean my rig has to pass the test by the critics that be at NAXJA? Give me a break...

And he runs stickers from vendors who helped sponsor him....dont we do the same here at NAXJA with the banners? Seems to help both parties, so i dont understand the criticism here.

:kissyou:

Four Wheel Parts, obviously.
No one ever said he had to pass our test, but this is a public forum, right here, so opinions are a dime a dozen.
He appearantly doesn't mind or he wouldn't have his junk on the cover of a catalog.
Good for you if you go on a quadrupple-Xpedition.
If pictures of your rig end up here with stickers pasted all over it, a tranny cooler sticking out of the hood, and 500 pounds of junk strapped to your roof, it'll probably get the same rash of shit he did.
Good luck with that.

LOL....noted.

I'll make sure i share pics of my Bumper Dumper too... :laugh3:

Not into stickers myself but I'd let sponsors wallpaper my Jeep if that's what they wanted to pay my way lol. They'll be seeing some beautiful country.

From his my dream link...

THIS IS A SIMULATED IMAGE OF THE DESIGN OF MY DREAM XXXPEDITION VEHICLE.
THE RIG SHOWN IS A RELATIVELY MILD VERSION OF THE DESIGN WHICH (SO FAR) EXISTS ONLY IN MY HEAD.
6x6pict8.jpg

If you have ever been on a longterm trip, you know that there is never enough space for gear.
On our 6-month journey through the states I have designed and redesigned the ideal rig many times.
The main criteria: maximum interior space with maximum off-road capability.
A six-wheel drive vehicle is the perfect solution. You get additional space without compromising the short wheelbase. This way you also get the advantages of a short and a long wheelbase. For better maneuverability of the lengthened truck on tight trails the rear axles are steerable.
In contrast to this picture the custom front and rear bumper are equipped with a winch, and the roof rack is custom built.
The dashboard is removed and replaced with a painted tube/clear aluminum panel construction, which is more rattle-proof than the stock dash.

There are still countless details which I would like to change or add, but I could just go on forever.
Well, if you and I are really lucky, you might just see this head-turning beauty one day.

if i am really lucky i might see his 6x6 cherokee someday, thank god for this douche!

ps, i don't hate his truck, if i was safariing, that's what i'd want. minus a few items jerry bolted to the body.

I mostly question the need for two spare tires as shown on the covershot...

Would you drive from Los Angeles to Alaska and back with only 1 spare of everything?

It amazes me how ignorant some of you are... hasta

X2 It isn't like he's driving a Hummer H2 and claiming it to be the world's most extreme expedition vehicle. He brings what he needs to get him to where he wants to go. Sounds fun to me. Save your judgments for tards like LittleAnthony88, not for guys that get retailers to pay for them to go have a good time with their Jeeps and give them national recognition.
