Top truck challenge - lame vs naxja?

I got this dvd in the mail that showed a top truck challenge even, don't know the year. I was excited to see a cherokee but I didn't like the build. Leafs w/ revolvers front and rear, looked like over 8 inches of lift to run 35s. RTI score in the 500 range, and carborated. Actually most of the rigs were carborated, which I found suprising. I thought these were supposed to be top trucks?

It was entertaining to watch but I wasn't overly impressed. Not that my stock jeep would do better, I guess I just expected too much after reading this board.

We had a competitor for the TTC, Dan Starc, up a few years ago in his way overbuilt XJ (OD Green, big fat exo-cage), he never made it to the event though (didn't get enough votes).

Many feel carburetion is easier to tune, troubleshoot and can be made to work just as well off-road. Plus, most of these guys in TTC aren't running rock-crawling rigs or even trail runners. I'd put money on it most are mudders first and foremost with the other stuff thrown in when they hit TTC. Don't need EFI for blasting through mud or even romping in the dunes most likely.

It was 2000, and yeah the jeep didnt do that well. I have often thought about how many of the rigs i have seen on here could have gone in circles arround it. I remember voting for starc, I automaticly vote for any cherokee.
