Tool Porn

plus interest free for 6 mos:) $180 and it includes the tool chest really looks like a good deal.
Be very careful with this. I bought a eliptical for my girl with this "No interest for 12 months" deal Since then I have payed it off and bought alot of tools and an air compressor. Last month I got a letter saying If I didn't pay off the balance on my card they will charge me 200$ back interest for the eliptical.

the "set" i have in the back of the jeep is what i've picked up in the past few years.
never bother actualy gettin the pre-made sets as they never have what i REALY need when im lookin for tools.

I would be more inclined to buy individual sets instead of one huge case. So if you only need your 1/2" sockets, you won't need to lug around this huge box.

Many torx sets max out at T50. Make sure you have a T55 also. Some people hate the Jeep-Torx thang so much they slowly replace all the torx fasteners with regular bolts.

This one's kinda weird, but I recommend your repair kit include some sheet metal screws that would tightly fit the inside diameter of a brake line.

Twice in two years I've seen people who ripped a brake line & we got them home with front brakes intact by plugging the ripped line.

And throw in a good sized bottle of brake fluid along with your ATF / oil / etc.

so i was thinking,to help seal the brake line with the screw is to use some of that shrink tube, after you plug it with the screw you could wipe it clean, then heat some shrink tube around the screw to help hold it in place and create a better seal, just throwin that out there as an idea.

I can't decide whether to hate or like Harbor Freight. I've gotten decent stuff at a decent price and then other stuff has been utter crap. Now that warranties are just a few weeks long, for everything but hand-tools, it's even harder to recommend that store.

I guess my opinion lately has been- air tools are OK quality for a low price. Other stuff? Not so much.

And the 2-ply nitrile+latex gloves are a good deal *when* they're on sale.

Following up on this. Got my refund on friday last week and headed up to Sears and picked up that sweet 12pt 260 set for 179$. Pretty good deal i think considering it normally retails for 299$ and i saw them for 179$+ on ebay.

funny thing about the plastic case, i sorted everything out saturday evening and then left it in the kitchen when i went to bed. Sunday morning it was sitting in direct path of sunlight... So when i picked it up, i got 3 steps and the clips on the front gave up the goose and everything spilled out! LAME! so i got to put 260pcs up all over again! lol

I have had that happen in my driveway and in the parking lot of LKQ, it sucks! My buddy has the same set with an older box that does not close as well, and he runs a velcro strap around the box to keep it shut. I keep forgetting to do the same thing.

My set of Kobalt sockets doesn't have a liner on the inside when you close it and store it or move it around, the sockets come out of place.

I have this same set and love it. However, I'm started to move away from Craftsman and go with Husky (Home Depot). Sears has a good waranty but I have gotten refurbished tools instead of new ones for ones that I have broken.
