Yep, same here. But I wasn't going for looks--I trailed my Jeep hard, and I was tearing up tires.

I used a handheld jigsaw with a fine blade.

my cuts weren't perfect, but there was a lot of adult beverages involved, so that may have contributed.

I used some sort of fender trimming that I got from Mark (sharkXJ) to clean it up. can't remember where he got it.

I used a Harbor Freight angle grinder and a lot of beer. I didn’t have a jigsaw at the time but that’s a great idea!

Its called Trim-lok. It covers up rough edges nicely and really improves the finished product.

IMO jigsaw/airsaw/sawzall makes the fender jump around too much and you end up with a really rough cut and warped fenders. cutoff wheel and patience will give you the best final outcome.

I did mine with a jigsaw and covered it with door edge trim

I did it my first time with a cutoff wheel. It works OK, except that it burns the paint off and it is a much bigger PITA to follow a line with sparks flying everywhere.

doesnt burn the paint at all if you do it right. like i said, the trick is to clean it up with a flap disk. i usually just rough it out within 1/4" with the cutoff wheel, then take the rest down with the flap disk. it's real nice for doing smooth contours. I've done a few with factory paint and zero paint damage.

Body saw is the way to go. Quick like a sawzall. But more precise and controlled.
