Tomken Caranage Bumper

Diesel: adjective used to describe certain mullet wearing rug munchers.

ex: That flat top diesel dike over there looks like she'd rip yer dick off.

I belive the grill is a seperate piece and I would agree with the fact that, yes, it is ridiculous. Fugly if you will. (Fugly: F!@#ing+ugly=fugly)

Good new welder=500 bucks.
Grinder, and supplies=30 bucks
Steel=30-300 bucks

Being able to fabricate items at home, and not be screwed by Aftermarket companies.......Priceless.

The ability to weld well is a great talent, not had by all.

For bumpers, I highly recommend doing more searching and asking more XJ'ers. Take a look at some of these places:

www.custom4x4fabrication.com - really nice front winch bumper for $600 range

http://www.rigidco.com/FbW.htm - very popular on NAJXA

http://www.ajsoffroadarmor.com/FrontBumpers/index.htm

http://www.c-rok.com/frontbumper.html

http://www.protofab4x4.com/prod0300.htm

http://www.jcroffroad.com

http://www.boulderbars.com/xjfrontbumper.htm

http://www.rocklizardfabrications.com/Products.htm

There ya' go. I saved you some time, but do search and get the bumper you want the first time.

Good Luck!

Welding is not a talent...It's a SKILL. ANYONE can weld given enough practice, and time. Hell, my 14 y/o stepdaughter can lay a pretty decent bead...and she's only been practicing for 2 months. The welding is only a small part of Fab work. Setup, and fitup can make a crappy welder look good, and poor fitup can make a perfect welder look like crap.

Is this the bumper on that yellow XJ w/ bushwakers in the quadratec catalog?
No it's not the same bumper. It is the same XJ though.
I stopped by their place this summer, they are really nice folks. It has changed ownership within the last couple years. They wheel their stuff too.
I saw this bumper when they were getting it ready for the pics on the site.
It was a really nice looking bumper and it was beefy. They also have a new rear bumper coming out too. It has some really cool end caps that are designed to be replacable if they get mashed.

But...............none of that changes the fact that it is way overpriced.

They can't even spell their name right on their website... I'll pass.

"Check out this NEW Tomkne Bumper."
