Its time to get new tires for my stock 91 limited and am wondering what the best tires to run are up here in Wisconsin. Right now the General AT2's are looking good but i havent been able to find much info on how they are in the snow. Also what is the biggest tires you can fit stock without clearence issues.
I had the AT2s on my Dakota and my TJ. They were awesome in the snow, most of the time I didn't need 4wd. This is Indiana though. They are VERY similar to the BFG ATs, just cheaper.
I haven't been able to drive on my new BFG AT/KOs but last year I had a used set that both front where bald and I still went threw about 1 1/2' foot of snow on a trail that had ice under that yet, and I still have open diffs.
I would like to sell the ones I got now since I want to go with a bigger tire and right now the my tires don't even have 1000 miles on them if you want to buy them. The I got now are 30 9.5 15 and my old size was 32 11.50 15. I had bought smaller tires when my 4.0 started to die I thought the smaller tires would save the motor but died soon after get them on. I got a v8 now I looking at 32 or 33 again.
I'm a HUGE fan of Maxxis tires.
The Mudzillas are legendary in Moab.
Loved my Creepy Crawlers.
Now have Bighorn Mudders on both my Rovers.
They're great in everything.
Very reasonably priced too.
I DD my Bighorns. I've been very pleased with them, couldn't be happier.(Unless they were free)
They do have a tendency to get cut up a little on the front fenders without proper bumpstopping though.
i recently moved here from Massachusettes, and i ran the BFG A/T KOs (31") and i could run around up there in 2wd in almost any situation (on road with snow), so im sure they will do fine out here with more ice/rain
BFG A/T'S  Best all around tire with great traction in winter. Even good is some mud.
I have had a few friends with the MT/R and they wore fast. They did not have them on long before going to something else. Not very good in the mud in my opinion.
Well the 5 times i went to badlands this year seem to go pretty well. It rained twice when i was there. My wifes jeep has Bfgs and I kept draging her out when she got stuck. I wasnt saying that MT/R were the end all be all tire I was just saying that they were a good tire. Yes a little noisy, and they do clean out poorly. When they work they work good.
My friend had mt/r on his dakota went threw some stuff that I thought he would need the winch he has. He got some miles out his but they did seem to wear fast and where noisy.
yea these tires will stay on all year. people keep saying that the BFG's AT's are worth the extra money but so far nobody has given any reasoning as to what makes them better than the General AT2's
