Big Daddy has been a tremendous help and is the one who started this ball rolling. Let's try not to let this go downhill, If there needs to be a debate we'll hold one. For now let's allow this poll to run it's course and the follow up will probably be special elections next week. ;)

Can't argue with any of goodburbon's reply

Get this poll done then anyone interested in throwing their hat in the ring should do so and the members will deceide who will lead the chapter, seems like we got some good people to choose from if they are interested.:wantyou:

So what time does the poll close? It is 7/21/07 by my phone. Do we have a specific time?

It doesn't have a specific close time as of right now. However, we've got a majority of the member votes already (20 out of 27 at last count, if I remember correctly) so even if everyone showed up and voted against it it's still decided in favor of waiving the BOD requirements at this time.

Goodburbon has posted official nomination threads, so now is the time to begin nominating the folks you think are qualified for the various positions.

Also, to respond to Ecomike's idea regarding number of votes for Pres. / VP, I think its a good idea, but I think it might be better to simply allow members to run for multiple offices. The net effect should be the same, allowing membership to decide which position they think the person would be better suited for.

has anything been decided on the area reps? will they be elected or appointed, how will the areas be decided, major city or suburban areas possibly?

This will be one of the subjects that should be visited by the BOD once we have official chapter status. Right now we only have 27 members, and at this point I think it would be putting the cart before before the horse to further subdivide our fledgling chapter.

How about just creating an all volunteer committee for now, made up of volunteers that want to work on events, local representation and membership drives. Then as things evolve just split that up into seperate, smaller committees as needed.

Just ask for volunteers (new thread), and a list of what they want to do, and what they know how to do. The location part is already done thanks to Kendrik. Then the BOD can have something to work with as soon as the chapter is official.

Good idea. If we will look at the Google Earth map we still see alot of gaps. West Central Texas and most of North Oklahoma are a virtual void of members. Many other areas are sparse as well. Who ever takes on those jobs it will involve recruiting outside your city/county areas. Keep this in mind before you jump up and volunteer. Not trying to discourage anyone but it is a large task.

Guys, the way this works you are all reps. If you want to put something up for consideration make a motion to the BOD, have that motion seconded and It's on the table. There isn't a need at this point for sub dividing this chapter yet.

Hey guys, let me know of any way I can lend a hand or help out.

Steven
