Thought I'd Vent Quick

I bought my winch bumper and my Kargo-Master roof rack through 4WheelDrive Hardware, and BOTH times were somewhat of a hassle. First, NOTHING is ever in stock, so you have to wait a minimum of 3 weeks for it to even be shipped, so if you need it for a run in the near future, forget it.

The roof rack finally came and I was all excited. I started putting it together and realized that one of the sloppy welds had broken (probably not 4wd’s fault), so I had to weld that back up. THEN I went outside, took off all the stock luggage rack stuff, popped the rack up there only to find that it came with the wrong mounting hardware, nowhere near correct. So we gave them a call, and they acted like it was OUR fault, because their records showed all the correct stuff. We had to explain to them numerous times what went wrong until we finally got someone on the phone who even knew what a Jeep was, and even then we didn’t get a refund or whatever. NOW I had to re-order the correct mounting stuff, and guess who gets to eat the shipping on the wrong ones? You got it, me.

Anyhow, I’m sure there have been good experiences with this company, just not really by me. Anyone else ever have any weird transactions or outright BAD business from these clowns? Or maybe even a GOOD experience that would vindicate them? Post it if ya got it.

Well I had purchased some stock bumper end caps from them 5 years ago, and it was all good.. I thought I read somewhere that 4WD Hardware was purchased by 4 wheel parts a few months or maybe a year ago... I am sorry you had such an ordeal with that company.. better luck next time... maybe call the BBB and open a complaint with them, since they should have eaten the shipping for the correct mounting hardware. So much for customer service...

I bought 8 16x8 rock crawler wheels from them...4 at a time, both times was a hassle to get the right backspacing.

I have to agree with the shipping too....takes way too long to get stuff, their stores never have what I need.

my opinion on 4wp and 4wp customers is not very high....
why pay someone to order parts for you at in inflated rate?
especially when the counter people are dicks at best, and retards at worst. (i understand its hard to know everything about every vehicle make and model, but keep your elitest comments regarding your products to yourself)
no offense to anyone working there, im sure lots of good people work there.... but never the less, store space costs money... and guess who pays for their shiny stuff?

Skwerly, I ordered my gears, install kits and axle shafts from them. I was origionally told about a week before the stiff gets shipped so I would receive it maybe 10 days from order date. When I talked to them on the phone about what I needed the person that I talked to was very knowledgable and knew what I needed. I was even able to talk a 10% discount into the deal.

On top of that my stuff was delivered the next day. Ordered on thursday and delivered on fri.

The sales perons that I talke to was Brian, I cant find his card but if I do I will forward the info to you.

OK, the original post was about "4 Wheel Drive" and I don't know if "4 Wheel Parts" bought them.

(OK, did some checking and yes, they were bought: http://www.4wd.com/aux_incl/aboutus.aspx )

I do know that "4 Wheel Parts" sux.

When were they bought, I purchased my stuff last jan or so.

My first experience with them was good. I orderd a K&N AIR INTAKE and a dynomax exaust, and they both came on time. Then I orderd my lift kit from them and they screwed up on sending me two different leaf springs, but they were nice about it and sent me the right one and paid for the wrong one to be shiped back. And just a few months ago I orderd both uper and lower ball joints from them, and i had to wait for the lower ones to arive because they were on back order, and i couldnt wait that long because i needed for my jeep to pass inspection.long story short i ended up getting them after i whent to c.a.p and instaled new ones, and they took them back with no problem. over all i'm prity satisfied with the way they do things.

I have to agree 4 wheel parts is bad. I ordered tires and rims mounted and balanced last summer from them and when they arrived the rims where in boxes and the tires unmounted. when I called to complain they acted like it was my fault , then they admitted someone from shipping missed where it said mounted and balanced on the slip.. They never credited me the money I paid for them to mount/bal.

I used to work for Conejo Off Road, they have since been bought out by 4WP.

It was a shame, good shop to go to.

we're straying from the original idea here.... service from 4wd hardware. it might be thier policy for you to eat the shipping and that sux, ok. but now you guys are talking about getting shitty services from 4wheel parts, service is all about the people that work there, it has nothing to do with the company. the 4wp by me in compton has always taken good care of me and i cant complain one bit. other locations may have shitheads working for them who knows. dont bash the whole company because oone fucktard got a job there. dont get me wrong im not defending the companies that fucked you guys around but if you're going to bash a company please dont let it be just because the people that work there misunderstood your order or forgot something.

I ordered both my sets of wheels face to face in Azusa....So I only blame the two guys I dealt with at that store....They are assmonkeys. :D

I have never purchased anything from 4wd but I have bought a ton of stuff from several different 4wheelparts stores. I have never had a problem with 4wps. That will beat any other price and they offer a military discount. I research what I want, find the lowest price and "then" call them and tell them exactly what I want and what I can get it for. They have never failed to deliver for me. I also use Summit Racing alot. (Free shipping and military discount)

one of the reasons why I got out of the biz...
I got tired of getting asked for a discount for this or that then having people try and bargain shop and expect me to have everything on the shelf.
