Is it just me or does this look like a terrible idea.
I cant see a way to aim the thing, What if the person forgets or stops taking their meds and freaks out on the visiting nurse or grandchild and shoots them.
Since its a class 1 medical device can it be taken into court and schools?

This just seems like a terrible idea.

Even better, Constitution Arms says it's had it certified by the FDA as a "Class I Medical Device." That means doctors could prescribe the handgun to qualified patients, who would then have some or all of the cost reimbursed by Medicare or private insurance.

How does this qualify as a medical device? And I don't see why in the world a doctor should be prescribing a hand gun to their patients.

It is a tool, just like a hammer.

it is a Class 1 device because it is ergonomicly designed.

Well I do not see an immediate use for it....I do see that it could be usefull.

I would class it with the pen guns, cane guns, cellphone guns...etc.

I like the fact that it does not "look" like a gun.

I've known folks in wheelchairs who possess the mental capacity to know when/where/how to use firearms...but simply lacked the strength to handle a full-blown handgun. Many of them I know carry knives because of that. I think this is a wonderful idea for that demographic.

I think many of you are really over-analyzing this and punishing an entire group based on stereotypes.

I agree with what you're saying to a point, but if I were in that situation, I'd rather have a small frame .22, with multiple shots than some awkward, single shot pistol-like thingy.

It's hard to tell what people will want though. Time will tell if anyone finds a use for this device or not.
