the oil pan dilema...

When you haven't wrenched much before (or for a long time) and you are working on stands or ramps instead of a hoist, a small project can take a long time. Just getting up and down off the floor is a lot of work for some of us bigger, older guys.

Still feels good when you fire it up and it all works. And no doubt that you have saved at least $500.

I am in no wise arguing with you. Me? 6'3", currently 275#, and plenty of old injuries. No lift. Floor jacks and jackstands only.

You'll find doing the oil sump to be much easier once you've lifted your rig. My 88 and my 89 Limited had to have the front end jacked up to full droop, I did a 1990 Laredo that needed to be jacked up to full droop and have a bottle jack put in to force the front axle away from the engine, but my 1987 Pioneer with a 3" lift was easy as all get out with all four feets on the ground.

Go figure. So, I first want to score D44 fore/aft for my 88, then I'll lift it 4-5" or so.
