thanks dustin. I plan to use factory black OEM MJ style flares. I prefer the quality of the older style vs the new style.

i may end up going with some ajax baja fenders in the front, though. we shall see.

Nice to see it in some sunlight, lookin good man.....Cant wait to see it with all the shoes on!

OMG! That rig is so beautiful it makes me want to cry. NICE WORK!

This is beautiful. I'm planning something similar for my 88... except add a 5.9 and 5 speed standard, and mine is staying closer to factory height/tire size. I love your attention to detail on things like wiring and plumbing.

I did not know anyone still made mj slider windows!

You should think about putting those braces back on or replacing with something better of your own design, I think. They are on the mj to keep the cab stiff, I am not sure such a small cab with a uniframe construction will be stiff enough without them.

thanks guys.

my thinking on the braces is that the re longarm braces basicly replace them. couple that with the new interior seat bars, I think its ok. you still think I need them?

I couldn't really see all that well what was going on in the pics since I was on my phone when I typed up the last post.

I agree, you should be fine with the RE brace going to the pinch seam there.

quick update... Ive been working on the interior/ bed wiring harness.
the Xj uses designated bulbs for brake, turn, taillights.
the Mj uses the same bulbs for everything.

So I pulled the harness and rebuilt it from the cab back, now the mj taillights are wired like an XJ. I like it better than factory for sure.

My solder gun really sucks, I could have had the job done in half the time if i wasnt waiting on the stupid gun. In all I think I made about 100 connections.

So as of this evening, the only wiring required is the fuel sending unit.
Also, i figured out my HID lights. some idiot had wired the ballast supply plug backwards. now they work sweet. Not sure I can see a difference on the ground, but they sure look brighter at the bulb.

damn its looking good Joe. oh and good work on the harness. thats the toughtst thing imo. but I hate electrical shit.

THERE IT IS!!!!
Lookin siiiiiiiiiiick sitting on the tires and wheels......
KUDOS!

Incredible MJ, love the color. My favorite XJ color is the Amber Fire Pearl. Is that Sienna Pearl limited in the background where you're getting all of your interior parts? What are you doing with those limited wheels? I might be looking for some center caps.

Here is what I did with my front speakers, I had to cut out the stock speaker grills and they turned out pretty well. Yours might be cut out more than mine were but if its just the stock grill cut out most 6.5" speakers will fill the hole.

Great work!

I love the late model look and all the attention to detail and taking your time with it!
You are making me want to do the late model XJ upgrade on my 89' MJ 1 ton! :D

Please post this thread up on comancheclub.com too if you haven't already for your MJ bros over there! ;)
