The MJ's alive ...

Well, I brought the MJ back to life this past weekend. Had a little incident with the rear axle (posted about on OEM). I am now running a mis-matched set of axles so no 4WD. Does anyone happen to have a cheap 3.55 geared axle (8.25 preferred since I just bought all new brake shoes & hardware) laying around? Living in the snowbelt with 2WD only is a bad combo. I figure it's cheaper to buy an axle than regear this one. The rental car goes away tomorrow and the MJ becomes my daily driver.

I still have settled nothing with the insurance companies over the XJ. I've been speaking with my attorney to see what options I have. Either way I've probably got a long wait until I see any money. I am working on securing a loan to pay off the remaining balance on the XJ and buy a daily driver. I drove a '97 F150 w/ a 4.2L this evening ... price is good if I can get the financing squared away. I figure a truck would make a good runner and could double as a tow rig for the MJ when it grows up.
:firedevil I WILL BE BACK WHEELING! :firedevil

Great to hear that :D

Now if you want... I got 3.07 gears for D30 and 8.25(29 spline) that you can have for free (shipping only) :D :D Although you're probably going to find the 3.55's somewhat soon as someone local is bound to have them.

Thanks for the offer Kejtar ... I don't know how to set gears or know anyone local that does, so I'll hold out for a complete axle.

To possible help in finding an axle, I have the Kargomaster Kilimanjaro roof rack from my wrecked XJ complete with tire mount and a pair of light tabs to offer as barter material as I'm still cash poor from this mess. (Damn insurance companies  ) The front crossbar is tweaked a bit, but could be straightened ... I had $500+ new in it. Since I plan to build the MJ, I won't be needing it ...
