The Mickey are good, but American Racing 172 is almost the same thing at half the price.

The kid and I spent a few hours at Prairie City today and beat the rigs on the rocks. Saw a couple other XJs there as well. Both of our Jeeps did well. Good times.

Here's the Eliminator in the orange 2-D Cherokee and his fiance in the white XJ.

Okay, you guys both get my spit and polish award for the week.

And that says a lot!

HNY!

Dustybob! Hey, man. Good to meet you yesterday. You have a sweet machine and you know you are doing things right in life when you get to wheel with your fiancé in her own XJ! Way to go, man.

We'll have to get back out there soon. Let me know when you're ready for another trip to PC.

I remember when they first opened Prairie City. It was just two concrete lined mud pits. It looks like they upgraded it a bunch since 1990-1991.

Today is one of my rare holidays and a great day to search for those rims I have been after, as well as take care of my rear pinion leak. I called West Coast Differentials looking for 8.25 locker options but I'm not willing to spend the bucks on an ARB (and pump) and I'm not sure I want the Detroit for $950 (installed). Why doesn't Eaton make an e-locker for the Chry 8.25?

I still haven't decided on rims, but I HAVE decided to keep the XJ and not change to an LJ or TJ. I have other options in mind and it will be best to keep my trusty Cherokee and keep on building her. I think I'd miss the XJ family too much if I changed. Anyway, I may need to start looking for the D44 axle upgrade instead of trying to lock the 8.25, then go with 33x12.50's or even swap to LA lift and 35's (despite everything I have ever said about doing that LOL). Holy cow, the options, man!

Oh yeah, we also spent much of the weekend looking at 2012 Ford F-150's and travel trailer upgrades, as well as Honda commuter-scooter options. Looks like I'll have about three salesmen calling me all day...

I do like these Mickey Thomson aluminum rims, but if I invest in these now, I'm basically stuck with 10.5" tires. Replacing my Cragar Soft 8 steel wheels with the exact set seems...so....bland. Decisions...decisions...

Crap. Mickey Thompson Classic II's are on national back order. Just bought a set and found out I would need to wait until March to get them in....now looking for something similar.

Anybody use Black Rock Series 908?

How about Mickey Thompson Sidebiter? These are not available until mid Feb.

American Racing Mojave rims look good but the price is getting steep.

I also like these Eagle alloy 185 series rims.

Why are you stuck with 10.50 tires? What width of wheel are you wanting to buy?

I'm not stuck with 10.5" tires, actually. That comment was based on bad information from this morning but I know that I can run 12.5's on 8" wide rims. If I want the Mickey T's I will have to wait. I hate waiiting. Waiting is for pinks.

I was going to say that an 8" wide wheel would work great with the 10.50 and 12.50 tires.
