Glad to see your son doing well in the forces, Kelly! Speaking of replacing bushings, I found this over the weekend:

Won these at our trail clean up the weekend before, thankfully!

You'll like the Brown Dog mounts. I suggest dipping a little past the pocket lint and buying the engine mounts that go along with those. You won't regret the decision.

By the way, did you get to this before your manifold cracked?

Yeah, from what I can tell its ok thankfully. If not, I found a stroker for cheap and I was gonna swap the motor anywho! :D

That's hilarious! I think you took a picture of my mounts! We may have even done the swap the same weekend. Nice not to have my engine lift. Mine was so bad the fan started hitting the radiator support and my T-case linkage actually pulled out of the body side of the mount within just a few days. Both of my mounts were that bad and I daily drive it, so had to wait for a few free hours and access to the other car. It was ugly for about a month... probably got good mileage as easy as I was going on the gas. LOL

I do wish I had gotten the rubber version though... not too bad, but would love to have zero vibes at idle.

Congrats Kelly! I know you are proud of him.

I was proud after he yanked my Jeep off of a couple obstacles at Deer Valley this past summer. I suppose this is bigger :)

Now I wait for him to make me into a grandpa....

LOL^

Congrats to him, Kelly. Looks like he has a good plan.

I'm 20 now,and I feel like I've done a a lot, but also very little. I'm in my 3rd year now at Humboldt State, I hope I'll be able to get out within the next 2, to 2.5 years. My only grandiose plan is to work on the Klamath Dam removal project.

You're doing fine, Sean. You get to drive a cool lowered Cherokee like the one I parked next to and you are using expensive words like "grandiose." Big things are starting to happen to you now :)

Congrats on your third year at Humboldt.

I've been searching for a 2004-06 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon LJ for a little while now and I will buy once I find the "perfect" match for my needs. Hopefully I'll stumble upon a stock '06 Rubicon with low miles and good condition. Wife wants yellow. As long as it isn't red, I'll be happy.

Yesterday I stopped by the dealer for more WK parts (still working through the 60K changouts) and I found three or four JKs that would be strong contenders for the LJ. I want the wheelbase of the Unlimited but I like the updated features of the 2-door JK. Whatever I buy needs to be a good DD and capable of the next 10 years of mods and I don't want the price tag of a new JK. This Jeep WILL be abused on the trail.

There really is no point to this update, unless it is to foster discussion for LJ/JK preferences. Back seat accessibility is really not as much of an issue since we use the WK for all family outings (freaking love that vehicle). I believe I can get either Jeep for close to the same price as well, given some flex with miles, condition, and ignorance of the seller.

Ideas?

Hey all! Greetings from Mississippi :) I miss the Frog Blog! I can't wait to be back in a month to go on a snow trip. Can't wait to climb back in the Jeep and crawl over everything haha.
Go with an LJ, you'll love it just like the Cherokee and have another 5 years of fun

Oh hey Kev....hope you didn't read the part about making your mom a grandma. I was uh...kidding....

I'm finally getting around to posting a few pics from last Saturday's NAXJA Toy Run at Prairie City. I think Billy collected a few good items for the kids. Nice job to all who donated toys throughout NAXJA.

I have not been to Prairie City since last year's Toy Run, and I think they did a great job on a few new obstacles and there is enough stuff there to keep you busy for quite a few hours. Here are a few select pics from the event. I wish I took more...

The day was fun, but not without its minor incidents. I managed to bust a rear RE monotube shock while attempting to climb an unclimbable hill.

Update (from above)....

I brought my failed RE monotube shock to Central 4Wheel Drive on Auburn Blvd in Sac and they ordered me a replacement shock at no cost to me. I guess for that, I am thankful this Thanksgiving. Well, for that AND the unselfish acts of our heroic military members who continue to sacrifice their safety and welfare for our freedom and way of life.

On the tragic front, Piper the winch wench lost a leg during an unfortunate winching accident. A little duct tape and she'll be good as new.
