Do I put up with my old 36" tube TV or haul my spare on my rack for another year?
Look for a broken samsung TV. My roomate and I picked up a 32 inch lcd samsung for free from a garage sale. All that was wrong with it was a blown capacitor in the back. We bought the capacitor for 4 bucks and then a soldering iron from harbor freight for another 4. TADA 32 inch lcd tv at our finger tips for 8 bucks!

Oh that's a tough one.........I'd go with the TV, since I already have the bumper in question! :roflmao:

Are you actually looking at Panasonic televisions or was that posted as a generic picture of a tv? When I was looking at televisions I read quite a few reviews of Panasonic and not all were so great. A few people had issues with the screens blacking out after only a few months, fyi.

I've seen some good TV deals on Craigslist. I suggest finding a used TV and then buying the bumper.

You should consider Samsung.
We just got a 46 inch Samsung, 1080I with the highest refresh rate... the freaking thing is amazing! Im pretty sure its lcd.
It makes movies look like you're there.

The predominate opinion from the past 9 comments is to buy the TV and forget the Stage 3 bumper. Variations of those responses include buying a broken TV, buying a used TV, or buying a used TV and a bumper. Not bad options. I really want to stick with the 50-55" range. Plasma gives the best picture. LCD is less power hungry and lighter but still rocks.
Anybody else?
Like American Zero said, maybe I should just get both. Stage 2 will only set me back $355 (less if I wait for the Black Friday sale...).

During the week of black friday last year I picked up a 50" LG plasma, although only 720p I can hardly tell the difference between mine and the family's 1080p LG. I got mine for $730 with hdmi and surge strip. I mainly use it for xbox and movies and I will be picking up a ps3 for blue ray. I love the led lcd tvs, going to pick up one of them eventually.
My vote is for the tv AND the bumper!

It's funny how many options there are for freaking TVs these days. Plasma looks best overall but weighs a ton. LCD has less weight and energy consumption, but costs a bit more. LED is out of my budget range, but rocks, apparently. A 50-54" set will set me back a bit more than I want to spend but anything smaller will suck. Deciding on Plasma or LCD is sort of like figuring out which locker to go with first.

Mmmm, just got my 4Wheel Drive Hardware catalog and ordered a bunch of good junk for the Frog.
D30 and Chy8.25 Lube Lockers (one each)
Spicer driveshaft U-joints (two)
Spicer U-joint strap kit and bolts (one set)
Currie E-Z Deflator (had to buy one after using Kelly's during Sierra Fest)
Warn 4-gauge Quick Connector (to wire up my removable winch)
I got a 5%
discount also, which is pretty cool. Still no TV though 
......

Something I haven't seen mentioned yet is the fact that LCD will last much longer than plasma. With the size of tire you are running I wouldn't want to lug that sucker off the roof to change a flat. A tire carrier is your best bet. Just something to think about for you. I would buy a badass TV if my roommate didn't have a 46" LCD.

My LCA replacement bushings arrived from Rubicon Express late last week and I made that a quick Jeep project for Saturday. This is a pretty simple job and I had both lower control arms removed, bushings replaced, and arms reinstalled in under an hour. This first photo does not show the damaged bushings, but it does show the need for some control arm mini skids. I'll buy a welder in a month or two and will be able to weld up the skids in time for Spring wheeling.
With the control arm removed from the drop bracket and axle, you can clearly see the split bushing. I installed this lift kit back in January and found the bushings damaged after the first wheeling trip. It took me until October to finally get around to ordering and installing the new bushings. I'm lazy that way.
To facilitate bushing removal, I used a coping saw to quickly cut away one side of the rubber bushing. It was then a simple matter of using a large socket and BFH to remove the bushing from the control arm.
After installation, I test drove the Jeep and found the suspension to be firm and responsive, just as I remembered back in January of this year. I'll keep an eye on these bushings but RE claims they will last much longer than the previous material.

Nice. Looks good. My RC arms wore out bushings, (or flex joints rather) and Im lazy as well, I even have the part, but im far too busy to install them!
A write up on bushing replacement? :gag:
You should put the bolt in from the other direction so the rocks don't eat up the threads!

I thought the heim end was supposed to go on the axle side and the rubber bushing goes to the frame. Or does it not matter?
