The end of the ECKSJAY? (Now with pics)

Re: The end of the ECKSJAY?

Damn Phil. Sorry to hear about ECKSJAY. The Ultimate Trail Rig also says He's sorry for you, too. Glad you are ok, and at least you took out a cockroach car. Hope the driver was drunk or suspended or had warrants. Or all three.

I had a similar accident about 12 years ago now. The boob that hit me had Farmers. He was more intent on the dumb blonde in the seat next to him than my rear. I settled with them on property damage to the car but waited until I settled personal injury. I settled a year later, didnt have to. As it turned out everything is ok but I wouldnt settle for PI. You never know, esp with a hit like that!

Sounds like mainly sheet metal damage. Hopefully the unibody isnt too buggered up. Hey the drip rail on that side was buggered up anyway!

I'm taking a job in Seattle and staying in Kent for the time being. When I have time I can help you with ECKSJAY. That is when I am not working or looking for a place to live or actually moving. 8-p

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Good luck on the recovery!

Unibody is hosed. Adjuster said the Jeep is sitting about 2" higher in the right rear where it got hit...

Thinking about a nice 91+ with a 3.5" RE Superflex with some Emu shocks and stabilizer...one some 31s. :)

We'll see. :D

Re: The end of the ECKSJAY?

Phil, Phil, Phil.....sooooo sorry man. That really sucks. all that time, blood, sweat and $$$$. Glad to hear you're alright though, thats whats really important. as for the XJ....Take it as a sign. time to go bigger and badder!

hey, i bet between all of us we got enough crap laying around to build u a nice stocker to get u started again. you can have my turdy five

Re: The end of the ECKSJAY?

Glad to hear you're OK! Sucks seeing all that hard work go down the drain, but you can always build another XJ. :(

Re: The end of the ECKSJAY?

Hey Phil, I'm sorry to hear about your rig getting wrecked. I'm glad you made it through relatively unhurt! Sounds like a good idea trying to think business on the settlement with the insurance people. That's pretty much all they're thinking about - keeping their losses to a minimum. Just a suggestion - when you are ready to start looking for another XJ - check out the WA State Surplus on C St in Auburn (next public auction in Auburn is June 9) or maybe even their Ebay Store Even though XJ's are less prevalent, there's still a few going through at their auctions. I bought my 97 there a couple years ago and a friend from work picked up a very clean 2000 with barely 100K on it last year for $3100 on their Ebay site. It had a cooling system leak but a can of BarsLeaks seems to have solved that pretty cheap.

Aye, I will. ;) I will take the last 8 years and build a bit more practicality into the next one. :patriot:

Re: The end of the ECKSJAY?

I don't trust alot of insuranse adjusters. You need to make sure they don't sent ECKSJAY to the salvage yard without your consent, It has happened. It aslo sounds like the Farmers agent is better that the ones i deal with, most are just dumbass who learned thier stuff from college and know nothing about repairing an actual vehicle and only try to save thier company money.

I do talk from experience, if you know what i do for a living.

Anyway watch yourself.

I don't know how it is down south but up here All of Progressive, Safeco, Gieco adjusters are former employees of Hertz, and Enterprises. They are just a bunch of rental car jockeys with business degrees.

Jamez you know it is so much fun to mess with the adjusters. It seems that you can convince them of anything. :) It is just like playing a game with a three year old, no matter what you always control the outcome.

Re: The end of the ECKSJAY?

Damn straight Hans.

Most don't even know how to repair a car, they just wright down what they think is bent or broke.

Had a sheet today from Farmers with replacing a hood on a metallic SILVER car with no fender blends, who the Fawk is he kidding?

I prefer working for ST. Farm, cause i wright my own sheets.:D

Whats your labor rate? :D :D :D :D J/K.

Re: The end of the ECKSJAY?

We buy alot of cherokees that go through the insurance auto auction. The ones that really get us are the ones they total for a small dent in the door or another one had scratches on the fender flares and a rim from what looked like maybe a cement barrier of some kind.

Guess I shouldn't complain....that why we can offer parts at a low price.....lol

edit: I have to try...I can't ALWAYS have the ugliest rig in the NWC :)

Paul,
I am willing to bet that Phil's rig after the wreck still looks straiter than your's;) That is one used XJ and a testiment to what they can handle:D

On a side note, aren't your tires on backwards?

Michael
