So heres my build thread/blog. It's called The Blue Wolf because my college mascot is the wolf and my jeep is blue. Its also ironic because my dads old Cherokee was called Grey wolf. It's a 2001 Cherokee Sport. I love this Jeep to death. It gets me where i want to go, and in return i buy it new parts. Its a win-win situation. Enjoy

so we woke up at 8 on saturday. drove about 30min to 4wheelparts to pick up my 4 31" PRO-COMP Xtreme Mud-terrains and 4 PRO-COMP 3000 shocks front and back. then we took the tires and Cragar Soft 8 rims to American Tire CO. to get the tires mounted and balanced.

^^ it seems like they used a lot of weights when they balanced this... is this too many? should i go get new tires?

anyway so we get them balanced and head home and start on the lift.
P9050531.jpg

it took us about 6 hours to do the front end. including going to get a spring compressor. but overall didnt break anything and went smoothly..
P9050530.jpg

^^ my dad. i have to say thanks to him because he made this possible. without him i would have still been working on the front... thanks dad i learned alot.

so sunday we woke up and started the back. that took us about 4 hours.
Overall the build went great... would have been nice if we did it a little faster but hey. we never broke a or stripped a bolt..

here are some finished pictures..

Then ordered some JCR rock sliders and installed these things. All i have to say is that these things are pure BEEF!! they are kinda a PITA to put on by yourself, but these things have paid for themselves over and over again.

Heres some pics of me playing on the Rubicon Trail in May of 2010. Was up their camping at Loon Lake with friends from High School(with sliders on):

After hitting my Differential multiple times on the trail, i decided to order a Rock Solid Diff cover. I also decided to buy an Aussie locker for the front (which is now sold).

Here is a better picture of my sliders i just found:

the locker and diff cover!

I also decided to trim my front fenders. Overall i think it came out pretty good. I still need to put some adhesive trim over the cuts.

Then came my first big Wheeling trip!!! I went with a bunch of guys from jeepforum and our norcaljeepers.net club to DeerValley and Slickrock Traill. I also managed to meet up with Kevin(Jeep450r) Both are located in northern California. Needless to say, I HAD A BLAST!!!

Instead of posting a bunch of pictures, ill show you the slideshow/video i made of the trip. Enjoy:

It twas a great day, except for the fact my check engine light came on. It came on after i got pulled out. I was shifting through the gears, Drive, reverse, park, drive, reverse, park. As you can tell a lot of snow got stuck under my engine. Well i got unstuck, helped some other guys get unstuck, then i started my Jeep and it started really hard (almost as of it was about to die) then my check engine light came on and the temp gauge went from 210 to like 140. I drove it home and it finally made it to 210, but the engine light never turned off. Any ideas?

Brown Santa showed up at my door a few days after Xmas!

Also purchased an Iron Rock Offroad Double Shear Track Bar, and some Rubicon Express 5.5 coils (Thanks Sean!!!)

I also did some snow wheeling with NAXJA. Pictures are in the 1-1-11 snow wheeling thread.

Lookin good Connor! Hopefully we can hit up slick rock and deer valley again this summer, as well as some more snow this winter. Can't wait to get the Aussie locker from ya!

Looks great! BTW, did you remember to clearcoat your diff cover? Apparently the Solid covers will rust through the bead blast finish if you don't paint them.

Well i have a question. This summer my goal is to run 35's on 5.5-6 inches of lift. I am tempted to buy an 8.8 for the rear that is already geared. What are the pros and cons of an 8.8 in the rear?

They are narrower, you will need wheel spacers to match the front. More fab work, and you have to mess with the e-brake cable. C-clips.

They are fairly stout though, I've heard of them holding 37's. Stock or not, I'm not sure.

What's wrong with what you have now? I'm assuming you have a 29 spline 8.25... Why not just keep that?

I just started researching it so i dont know too much about it. I just want to make sure im not gonna break anything running 35's. The one thing i do like about the 8.25 is that i can run an XJ front shaft with an SYE. I could do the same with the 8.8 as well i guess.
