Here's another small project that I'm working on:
I found some KJ center caps that I'm going to modify my wheels to install. I plasti-dipped them a dark gray and then added the gloss overlay layer:
I borrowed a friend's template and did some drilling and counter-syncing. Now those KJ center caps will bolt right up.
The back of the KJ center caps have a 3-screw/2-peg pattern. You have to drill 5 holes in between the 5x4.5 lug holes for them to fit:
So that's what I did:
Then, after that was finished, I turned the wheel around and made some counter-syncs so that the new screws I bought would sit flush with the wheel instead of sticking out:
After adding some paint tot he raw steel, the new screws are now flat with the wheel:
And here is the finished effect:
