In addition to the problems I've found help with here since I bought my XJ last year, I apparently have been learning an awful lot just from reading other people's posts.

Although I am far from an expert, I was pleased the other day with my current level of knowledge.

A nice looking red XJ on 35s or so pulled up across the street from my house. I went to check it out and was informed by the owner, who had never heard of NAXJA, that:

1) His 6.5" Pro-Comp lift was high-end and did not require any driveline work for vibes (didn't ride in the thing, but found this quite unlikely).

2) "They tell you when you lift it this much that you have to extend the brake lines, but you don't. They're just trying to sell you more stuff. You can just unbolt the hard lines from the body and have enough slack."

I HAVE a set of SS extended brake lines that I might just hand to the guy for free in exchange for the promise that he will put them on immediately and stop endangering himself and my loved ones on public roads.

3) His stock motor is a 4.2.

4) His cone intake "gave me 20 horse right there." "Oh yeah?" "Oh yeah."

5) His throttle body spacer gave him another 15 "horse." !!!1

I guess that was it. I dunno, I just thought it sounded like a lot of nonsense coming from a guy who'd obviously put a lot of time into his rig. I can't even understand how one would play this game without NAXJA - I never buy old vehicles unless I'm sure I can get this kind of technical support and info online from lots of people who know about all this stuff more than I ever will.

So thanks.

Yeah before NAXJA i liked Cherokee but one day i found it and became a member(when she was bone stock)

Aside from the occasional ruckus thats caused on here, most of which is just fun, there are a lot of guys who are willing to help out and even work on other peoples rigs. The guys i have met are good guys that are in it for the long haul. I don't plan on getting rid of my XJ either!

What a retard. Some people just need to walk away from the car. O well, maybe we can learn him too, send him on over.

get him some ride time with a properly setup rig. You don't notice vibes until you ride without them.

I run into this crap around here all the time. Stuff like 6" lift blocks with slip yokes. There is a thrown DS waiting to happen.
