Do back up lights need to work to pass inspection in Texas?
if i may semi hijack this thread.
what is acceptable for a horn? does it have to be factory setup? can i put a button on the dash? reason i ask is my horn no worky. in the process of tracking down the reason now.
did a search and got 0 matches. what is nss?they just started working a few months ago when I cleaned the NSS so my jeep would actually start without jiggling the shifter.

There is nothing in there about reverse lights. Mine havent worked since I bought the jeep six years ago and they just started working a few months ago when I cleaned the NSS so my jeep would actually start without jiggling the shifter.
See told you. I learned a lot when I was at Ger's.Thanks, I don't see anything about requirements for reverse lights to work either.
Your NSS is located on the shifter of an Automatic jeep, and it tells your jeeps ECM whether it is in Nuetral or Park so you can start your jeep, and it also tells your jeep when it is in reverse so that your reverse lights come on.
