Team MAD build

Where are the bead locks Matt? Throw them on and post another picture like the bottom one.

Its at Letzroll offroad with Andrew and the guys. They are installing the HP D60, Frame stiffeners, PSC ram assist kit ( new pump, resi, pulley, gear box and ram) along with modifying my tube doors to meet tech plus adding tabs so i can skin them. Then they are mounting the 5 race line wheels warpped in Goodyear MTR/K

all in time my friend trust me I want it back just as bad as you want photos haha

Well the jeep is at Letzroll offroad and they are making progress...hope to have it back at the end of the week...

But they installed the H.D. offroad engineering full length frame stiffeners, they did notch it around my JCR skid plate as it is to tight of a fit but im ok with that. They also installed a new tranismission mount so the jeep has new motor and tranny mounts. Then they installed the Yukon chromo shafts and pulled the lockrite out and replaced it with a spool in the rear 8.8 and finished it off with some wheel spacers to allow 8 lug bolt pattern to match the front HP D60. They then mounted the raceline monster beadlocks on the goodyear MTR/K...so its coming together..up next front HP D60 with full PSC steering and 7075 steering links then some small odds and ends like hip bar/side impact to the cage, modify tube doors and add tabs/skin.

in the photo you see the beadlocks, tires, and if you look closley can see the yukon log on the shaft and the frame plating in the rear.

Looking Good Matt. Keep up the good work.

Rear is done thanks to LetzRoll Offroad Racing. 8.8 is upgraded with Yukon Gear & Axle shafts, and we ditched the lockrite for a spool. Finished it off with wheel spacers to match the frunt 8 lug and then bolted up the Raceline Wheels and goodyear MTR/k's. I like it as it gave it some extra width and extra strength.

preview of what the doors will looked like skinned for racing and to help keep the desert and trail out. I think they look great and they can be removed for the hotter Az days. dont mind the baby tires up front as they are rollers as the guys will be working on the front axle next

Front axle is being built at LetzRoll Offroad Racing. It is a Ford ball joint HP D60 that will be getting stuffed with the best thanks to Yukon Gear & Axle. The front will have yukon gears, shafts and the grizzly locker then fitted with a PSC Motorsports ram assist kit. right now the guys are welding the axle tubes, truss and other brackets to bolt up.

Front bumpstop cans and Bilstein Shock Absorbers bumpstops getting mocked up..these bad boys should slow upward travel of the HP D60. Notice the upper link on my 3 link? yes that is 7075 alum which all my links including my steering are made out of

Nothing but the best on the front of our Ultra4 Racing build. The guys at LetzRoll Offroad Racing are building one solid HP D60 fitted with all Yukon Gear & Axle to handle the abuse and to help steer it in the rocks or at speeds thats where PSC Motorsports ram assist kit comes into play matched with 7075 links..

LetzRoll Offroad Racing got me a killer steering set up with all the best parts thanks to a PSC Motorsports complete ram assist kit. This kit came with new; gearbox, pump, 12" fin cooler and resi.

getting it back tuesday and then off to Johnson Valley Thurs-Sunday for the shake down....

Do other race Jeeps use a similar bump stop mounts? I've seen bump stop mounts with 8" of bracing get ripped off the rear of a 7200 truck more than once. How is that long lever of a bumps top mount going to survive one sides hard hits?

x2

Aside from the lack of bracing, unless its hidden :dunno:, you're problem gunna run into issues with the coil hitting the bump and bump mount. Mine are almost half that length and I still rub coils on them when flexing.

Got a side shot of the front end with the coil in there and sitting on its own weight?

Yes and no depending on who you talk too or what site your on. I have seen a few jeepspeed cars with this style of set up but cant validate the life of them. As for mine it is fully welded and plated and this same set up has worked wonders on the 4469 TJ the Shawn drives in Dirt Riot and Ultra 4. Seeing as the speeds my Xj will reach during events are no were near those of the truck you listed above (im assuming) I think ill be ok, but we shall see. In fact ill know by friday as Thurs ill be in JV pre-running for KOH EMC.

What is the travel on the bump? looks like only 2"? If so and if its not to late, I would up that to a 3 or 4". Rules say bump only allowed on last 2 inches. if its a 2" bump I doubt your going to get all 2". Just a thought...

Joel with Bilstein built these and said the the 4" bumps would be too long and bind on the coils as that is what he has seen so we figured the 2" should work. Were heading to JV this weekend to cycel the jeep and see how it does, if its not where i want it then Ill address it but right now im just ready to wheel..6.5 month deployment then a month in the shop...So needless to say im not to concerned but that could change come thurs or fri at speeds on the lake bed.

Pictures...

Here is the front.

Front suspension! We are running Currie Enterprises anti-rock sway bar to help with body roll. Deaver Suspension Inc 5.5" Jeepspeed coils with Bilstein Shock Absorbers foam filled bump stops and 5160 shocks. You can also see the H.D. Offroad Engineering, LLC frame stiffeners and the true 3 link long arm with 7075 alum links.

Also added side impact bars..

Steering
LetzRoll Offroad Racing did a killer job on the front axle and steering. The front axle is a HP D60 with Yukon Gear & Axle gears, shafts, grizzly locker, and hardcore lock out hubs. They installed a PSC Motorsports ram assist kit, that replaced the gear box, pump, pulley and resivor and came with a sweet cooler. Then finished the steering off with 7075 alumn. links!

and the side shot
Here it is at ride height. I think we are a litt over 5" in the front and 4" in the rear. We have 5" off up travel and 8-9 down, not sure about the rear yet. Will be playing with shackle angle in the rear to level it out. The front is 85" wide and the rear is 82". I love the Raceline Wheels monster bead locks and the goodyear MTR/ks.

Heading to Johnson Valley tomorrow and will be out there till sunday pre-running and working what ever bugs out.. Will share pictures and video as its going to be fun.

Well this past weekend went out to Johnson Valley to do some pre-running for our race coming up in Feb. The Jeep performed great at speeds in the desert and in the rocks. We broke/bent a few items but nothing that would have taken us out of the race so we need to fix a few minor things then should be ready.

I also painted the hood to match the rest of the XJ as it was brown before and installed my Prime 4x4 switch panel. If your looking for a nice switch panel for the XJ check out www.prime4x4.com as they ahve great stuff at great prices. This panel was easy to install and offers plenty of items to be wired with in arms reach.
