teach me about my bender and bending tube

i just went thru that after i searched google. thanks.

what size tubing does everyone reccomend for a cage.
i was thinking 1.75 for the main parts and 1.5 for the connecting parts.

Most street rigs run 1.5" but offroad I would make 1.75x.188 the minimum.

ok, thanks. will try to order a die tomorrow.

my buddy has some "industrial" fence posts that are like 3/16 thick in variouse sizes. you think that would be something to practice on? its galevized tube. deff not using it for the xj, just for practice bends

i guess it comes down to your goal for what kind of abuse it can take.
.188 is roughly 3/16" and if you run a lot of tube its going to get pretty heavy very fast. but if weight isnt of issue to you then go for it.

usually just rock crawling. nothing fast, nothing that could to send me into a 20 time barrel roll. after looking it up i found that most guys run .120

No,its probably pipe,so its not the correct size.
