TDS anyone?

Along with a few thousand other people! Might want to at least bring a few Power Bars or something....

I thought I should let people know that an individual is planning to build homes on the land extending from the highway to the end of the black top. He has staked off this area (private property) and TDS is trying to let everyone know. There should be signs indicating this, but TDS is trying to work with the individual to reduce future problems. So you will need to continue through the black top area and find a place to camp after that. Please let everyone know about this!

Thanks,
Craig

This is interesting, I wounder were all the nice houses on wheels are going to park, they will setainly get stuck if they go out further. I guess it will be fun watching them get pulled out or apart, what ever the case may be.

The local VFW runs a tent cafeteria with burgers and bbq sandwiches Fri and Sat night. Pancakes Saturday morning. Sunday is a "buy a ticket" breakfast at the local senior center. It's a pretty big fund rasier for them. I did it last year, wasn't bad - but I might buy two tickets for me this year! ;-)

Not sure where we're gonna camp, but close to the main area. My boy and I relay on it a bit...

There's a possibility that we'll make it down sometime during the day on Friday.

Anyone have GPS coords for the main camping area?

I plan on heading down Friday right after work, hopefully I can get out of work a little early so that I can get camp setup before dark. Any sugestions on where to camp (tent) I've never been before and I'm going alone, anyone want to share a campfire?

Don't know where we'll be, but you can camp out with us, I've got a Silver one, and Mike has the Wagoneer (easier to find than mine). I'll be headed down friday am w/ a red xj and probably an old bronce too, and Mike will be coming friday night.

I'm gonna try to circle the wagons w/ Mike and Marisha, if there's a spot. Black 4dr, license plate JAGERXJ.

Marisha, how much firewood should I bring?

Bring some wood......cause there aint none. If you can get there before dusk. One can camp about anywhere you might try to locate a lower area incase the breeze kicks up, you might go alittle past the MAIN AREA cause that way you won't get as much traffic (if thats possible) but you'll still get the amature BAJA wannabes and the ground is abit less rocky. I like peace & quiet.... The weather is gonna be nice I believe..... Wed. is supposed to be 80* and a weak front moving into the area over the weekend (just some clouds). If your coming in from the Palm Spr. side theres a AM/PM on the 86s expressway at Ave. 66 (keep watch'n the cross streets... 50, 54, 62 & such) to get gas 24 hrs. while there are other mom & pop stations abit further down they might not be open much after dark-30.
See Y'all

Should I even ask how much you can fit?

We're bringing the trailer...so a lot. I'll be bringing the washtub firepit.

I am prolly gonna just not sure what I am gonna drive there yet. :wierd:

I'm hoping to be there between 6 and 7pm.

I'll be bringing my tubbie and some wood. Since I'm bringing my boy, we like to camp pretty close to the main area - bathrooms, food and walking around.

I'll keep a look out for you guys. Anyone want to pick a CB channel?

I want to come on by and say hey to you all on Saturday night..then head home later for a comffffy bed. Then be back out first thing in the morning. I would rather head out with a group of XJs than with any of the organized runs.
I will be easy to recognize...I will have the white XJ!! :laugh3:
Okay..so maybe I need something more distinct....how about a white XJ with black crawler rims?
Okay...White with black and dents?
With MTRs?
(my gosh, I'm beginning to think there is nothing unusual about my Jeep...)
Okay! I got it! I will run my sand whip on it...the one with the American flag!
Probably no other white XJ with black crawler rims and MTRs and dents with an American flag!!
I should be easy to spot...
(sorta like Mike's nine inch woody! Or is that 'nine inched' Woody?)
Rick R :sunshine:
P.S. Anyone for a night run on Friday?
