So I got the T&T Y link upgrade kit so really just belly pan and arms. I get everything installed only to find out that my Front Drive Shaft is too short. Does anyone know how long the front needs to be stretched to for this set up.

1988 Cherokee
4.5" lift with 2 inch spacers
stock drive shaft double cardan joint

If you know of one for sale please let me know...thanks!

Oh and I am about 3 inches too short with the wheel base at 102"

Interesting..... Hadn't heard of needing a longer front shaft due to the TNT lift.

3" is quite a bit short. You're positive you've pulled on the slip yoke to extend it all the way and it's that short?

:dunno:

when i installed mine i was about 2" off. i measured from the middle of u-joint at t-cast to middle of u-joint at axle. I just went down to the local DS shop and told him the specs and he made one up for me. took it home and fit perfectly. But i went RE7.5" springs which lifted it 5.5". i think they sent me the 5.5" springs. I also added a 2" coil spacer to make it ever with the rear. so i think its sitting about 8.5" but it was all weird.

Yeah with slip yoke all the way out its still that short. I have the arms screwed all the way in and its that short. I had the rusty's 4.5" lift fixed lowers and stock uppers so all I did was install belly pan and arms and went to reconnect everything the DS would not reach. I had the length set at 32.5" from bolt center to center and that put my front axle perfectly centered i n the wheel well and the coils looked perfect there to so I wa going to run it like that and adjust accordingly. Cruzin Illusion (Tom) from my club has the same set up as me and he thought the DS should have been fine that length as well. Man I am confused at why it is so different!

I think it's a design flaw from T&T. You should just take it back off and give it to me!:hang:

I would call Bob cause your stock drive shaft should fit. I installed the 5.5 tnt system on my 96 had my front wheel base stretched out an inch and my stock drive shaft still works with about a inch till fully extended.

Or call a drive line shop had a front drive shaft legthened for my rear for around 120 bucks

Well fellas I have the arms installed and it drives sweet!!!!!!!!! NO MORE DEATH WOBBLE!! Although I still need a lengthened front DS. WTF!?!? From mating face to mating face its 32-9/16" and my drive shaft fully extended is only 31.5" so you know at ride height the front DS should be about 1" from bottoming out right? Oh and get this I had to screw the arms all the way in and it pushed my DS forward 2". Its almost like the arms I got are too long.....Driving alignment is back to perfect now, I can hit a pot hole in the street and take my hands off the streering wheel and there are no worries!
