t-case whine

i have a stock 93 XJ and do moderate urban wheeling. i was going to climb this steep dirt hill so i dropped it into 4 lo. when i did this there was a very loud whine when i hit the throttle. it doesn't do it in 4 hi though. any knowledge or comments would help. thanks.

Also check the linkage, if it's not adjusted correct it will be louder than normal.

mine whines in 4LO also. it's normal though. it's just such a low gear that you can hear it spinning.

thanks a lot guys! my buddy a few of the same things, but he's kinda questionable. just got into jeeps a little while ago. had a chevy 3/4 ton on 35s, but i like my XJ a lot more already. happy wheeling!
